  1. Sure. Basically every major villain post Rainbow Rocks baring Cozy Glow and the Storm King because at least they don't hide behind sad backstories. Starlight - Would've reduced Equestria to a wasteland(or any of the other hellish alternate futures we saw, pick one) in order to achieve her petty revenge on the Mane 6 for ruining her "Utopia town" but gets forgiveness anyway because Twilight really had no other option but to talk her down. Pony Of Shadows- Stygian is just a worse Starlight. He made no attempt to talk to the other Pillars about how he was feeling after they casted him out for stealing their stuff and then has the audacity to turn around and act like the injured party. Rather than trying to explain himself to them he expects them to be able to read his mind and then chooses to attempt to kill them. Tempest Shadow- Tempest was fine before they made her into yet another villain who is still bitter over one situation that occurred in her childhood. Like the others her actions are shoved under the rug once forgiveness is offered to her. Neighsay- A racist who insulted the leaders of the other nations but doesn't lose his job because he saw the error of his ways uwu. The first three are just the same character with a different coat of paint, honestly.
  2. I don't hate forgiveness. I hate forgiveness being handed to people who don't deserve it because they are toxic to not only themselves but everyone else around them.
  3. Rarity 100%. She showed that a traditionally feminine female character could be just as compelling as "the strong female characters" that our era seems so obsessed with.
  4. Here's the thing though, Scootaloo didn't take issue with the behaviour of RD's parents because she was projecting her own feelings of missing her parents onto the situation. RD has had to deal with her parent's behaviour for years and out of fear of upsetting them she didn't say anything. Realistically, she shouldn't of had to say anything because good parents would know not to be as invasive and obsessive as they were. My main issue is that Rainbow was totally in the right but the episode frames her as being in the wrong despite the fact her parents were being totally disruptive. What's worse is that they used Scootaloo to guilt-trip RD into apologizing after she had a completely justifiable reaction to their actions. Was Rainbow Dash shouting at her parents in her place of work mean? Sure, if you wanna look at it that way. But ask yourself would that of happened if they respected their daughter's boundaries or simply understood not to be totally obnoxious. The video below tells us what her parents are like after one day. Now imagine dealing with that for years. Stellar Flare and Firelight's behaviour throughout the episode is pretty unjustifiable regardless of whether Sunburst and Starlight were keeping in touch with them or not. Unlike RD's parents, they are completely creepy and had no concept of personal space. Stellar Flare constantly kept lifting up her son's robe to look at his ass and Firelight kept treating his adult daugther like a child to obnoxiousness levels. It's really no wonder what their children didn't keep in contact with them over the years.
  5. That’s true but Starlight and Sunburst still end up apologising to them even though they did nothing wrong.
  6. What are you most excited about from Marvel? For me, it’s Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
  7. I think it’s a three-way tie between Do Princesses Dream Of Magic Sheep, the Parent Map and Parental Gildeance. All three of which preach awful morals that are harmful to kids. Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep presents what is effectively an allegory for self-harm when it’s revealed that Luna created the Tantabus and that she had been supposedly dealing with depression since S1 but that’s fine because Twilight can cure all her problems with one friendship speech! Nevermind the fact that, Luna’s self-harm wasn’t isolated to herself(the Tantabus was a threat to everyone in Equestria). Instead of getting Luna getting the help she so clearly needed her problems are resolved handily in the third act never to be mentioned again. The Parent Map/Parental Gildeance both feature abusive parents whose actions end up being criticised by their children, only for their children to end up apologising to them. Like no, you are not a bad person for lashing out at your abuser because of their abuse!
  8. Yes it was a test but it was ballsy to risk the whole TCE on a test.
  9. Unpopular opinion but TCE. Major props for Shining Armor and Princess Cadence actually doing something while Princess Celestia/Luna(who were fully capable of defeating Sombra did nothing).
  10. Best season since season 6, to be honest.
  11. Thanks. Yeah, I agree. I was just making a jab at Starlight. I just find it rather interesting that Starlight who was pretty open to befriending Trixie, was very quick to raise arms against the Changeling. Although, the princesses of love and friendship respectively are guilty of this too.
  12. Probably Cadence. She's far more pro-active than Celestia and far more stable than Luna & Twilight.
  13. They literally state in the episode that Twilight wouldn't of got where she got without her friends but ok.
  14. 1) A Health of Information's lesson about the importance of self-care before helping someone else was a poignant one that has stuck with me ever since. 2) The Times They Are A Changeling, arguably my favorite episode in the entire show, taught a really important lesson about judging others purely on their race. To see our protagonists called out for their bigoted views and ultimately change them was perfect. It also was pretty amazing that it was Spike(a non-pony) that ultimately convinced them to alter their views. Also LOL at Starlight, a reformed criminal, being apprehensive towards a reformed Changeling.
  15. I'm still on the fence about even bothering with this episode. I can't stand Quibble Pants as a character. Is it worth it?
  16. My only minor problem with the episode is that I think too much time is spent looking for Dusty meaning that when Twilight does eventually find her, we don't get to spend much time to get to know her.
  17. Something relatively minor but something I appreciated nevertheless, was them altering Twilight's magic aura in the flashback as a callback(?) to the lighter magic auras in S1. Little things like that are always heartwarming however small they are.
  18. The 200th was M.A's last episode? Gosh, no wonder it was so good.
