11/11, Singles' Day in China. So I can buy a bunch of China stuff I've been wanting -
I doubt it helps but you're definitely not the only person at your university dealing with those issues. I personally took really well to being on my own and living on-campus but a lot of my peers struggled, even if they had a good friend group on-campus. You should try making friends with some folks in your classes, especially the folks you sit close to. I met a lot of friends in college that way, literally just talking to classmates next to me before class starts and walking and talking after class ends. That said I know COVID changed things A LOT socially, at least it did for me. But I was also a Sophomore going into my Junior year right in the middle of the worst of it. People just seemed less social and open post-COVID. So I don't know how common those things are now. And it might be more difficult now later in the semester, but still worth a try. Do you have anything in common with your roommate? If you don't know, might be good to get to know them better. You don't have to be besties with them but it's nice to at least be comfortable enough with each other to just chit chat about shit. Your university might also have free therapy available, including group therapy, if you think either of those might help.

what do you wish you had taken a photo /video of?
Iforgotmybrain replied to Reecejackox's topic in General Discussion
There’s not many things I wished I had taken a photo of but didn’t. More so there’s a lot of things I wish I could’ve taken better pictures of with an actual camera instead of my smartphone. Total solar eclipse comes to mind mainly. -
It’s alright. Reminds me a bit of Windows Vista and 7, definitely has character and I’ll take it over the bland flat designs that have become super mainstream.

The blu-ray for Ghost in the Shell. I already have a digital copy but… shit it was 99 cents 10 dollars, has really cool artwork on the box, and is technically higher quality than what I have on Jellyfin.

Unfunniest comedy show you have seen?
Iforgotmybrain replied to Reecejackox's topic in Media Discussion
Most sitcoms, honestly. A lot of them just aren’t my thing, not type of humor. Seinfeld and The Office are really the only ones I’ve ever found funny. -

The Beatles: Get Back documentary. Which I think counts as a show even though each of the 3 episodes is much longer your average movie. Anyway. I liked it quite a bit but I feel like I probably wasn’t the intended audience. I found myself a bit bored watching it at times, because a lot of it is just 3 or 4 dudes hanging out and jamming. Sure it’s interesting to see all the band members just kinda, being normal, but that does get old after not too long. Don’t get me wrong there’s some really good moments though especially with Paul McCartney just coming up with songs out of literal thin air. And some sad moments like when Paul is talking about how when all 4 of them are old and retired decades in the future they’ll shake hands and be buddy buddy again. Really overall watching this made me gain a lot more appreciation for Paul as a musician. It seems like the last few Beatles albums were fully driven just by Paul with the other band members either dragging their feet and not caring or in the case of Ringo just kinda chilling and hoping things work out. -

Iforgotmybrain replied to Luna the Great of all the Russias's topic in Media Discussion
This drives me absolutely batty, thankfully it's usually easy to pick up on someone doing this early into a video so I don't waste too much time watching them. Youtuber's who just read off of articles or Wikipedia drive me crazy too. There's so many channels now where all they post is slop that's like "Every deadly disease explained in 10 minutes" and it's just them reading the first few sentences of Wiki articles for 10 minutes. -

I think so. Even though I'd really like to see the Mariners make it and win their first. He does gaming youtube videos, kinda in a similar vein to the Angry Video Game Nerd. He also lives around the same area as me, so gotta support the local content creators
