  1. Samurai Equine, have you seen the Home Alone movies? if you have you'd probably think they're funny, I do, 1 and 2 are my favourites :flutterbat: also tomorrow is Christmas, I hope you enjoy it.

      @Dawnshine Wonder

I saw the original 2 when I was a kid and loved them. Was not interested in any of the others made after that. :please:
Also, Happy Holidays, my friend! :hug2:

  2. Get an early night, wake up tomorrow, have a good time with family, not much else to do.
  3. about how I was baffled about the dogma I saw being posted on other websites. I know people have got their opinions, but still.
  4. Sometimes audiophiles can be a bit extreme with the acoustic isolation thing, I'd ask them "ever felt thunder rumble?" "ever felt the roar of a loud powerful vehicle engine?" these vibrations are localized and felt, not just heard, this is how vibrations work in real life. So whenever people try to tell me this is not how audio is meant to be in Hifi, I ignore them. When I set up audio systems, I use anti vibration measures, but mostly to prevent it being a problem for neighbors. That does not change the fact that low frequency vibrations are supposed to be felt as well as heard, it's called physics. if they like sacrificing realism for the sake of "purity" be my guest, but I like to add immersion with my audio systems, if I am going to have a speaker system at all, I want to make it feel like I am at the rave, not just listening to it. Floor filler is my philosophy when it comes to EDM. No clue how we ended up in this conversation.

  7. About the PonyvilleFM music I'd be listening to on my new sound system after Christmas. Forget the Wharfedale diamond, I found a pair of decent JBL stage 240B speakers which I would like to listen to that sort of music on. It's still not high end, but it's a step up from what I was planning before, more refinement. Not that there's anything wrong with the Wharfedale diamond 12.2 but the higher impedance makes it more difficult to get a good amp for, and I don't want to risk clipping them.
  8. Is it bad that I am sensitive and that I cry sometimes?
  9. The RX 6700XT was an amazing graphics card for its price, I like AMD because they keep things in sensible budget ranges common people can afford, not being overly critical of Nvidia however one thing I would say about them is back then, they did not seem to offer very good options in that tier that had a lot of VRAM, 8gb for the RTX 3060 wasn't very good, a 12gb version existed but it was more costly, and the AMD video card you talked about had better game performance in the vast majority of cases. It probably would not be ideal for video editing either without Cuda support. https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-3060-vs-AMD-RX-6700-XT/4105vs4109
  10. Oh that reminds me of the first PC build I put together. I needed a BIOS update on my old Gigabyte motherboard to fix an instability issue with my ATI graphics card that caused black screens. I was nooby back then, I did not know much about PCs and I was new to the hobby, and that led to some wasted money on gear I did not need, I don't do that as much nowadays though, that was a very long time ago. I think on my next PC build there would be zero mistakes, probably. I am aware of the risks of BIOS update, and we should only do them if they're needed, but problems that caused bricked motherboards are rare. Some motherboards come with a dual BIOS which helps to mitigate this problem. I wish you luck on finding your ideal Linux distros you are comfortable with, there are so many of them out there.
  11. These do appear to be a good pair of IEMs from what I've researched about them, one problem though is Linsoul fail to inform people about the ins and outs of why they would need an amplifier that has a low output impedance, and because of that this could lead to some unfair criticisms of its sound quality from user error. The Apple Dongle DAC reportedly has a low output impedance but not every device with a headphone output does. How a product is marketed does matter. And while people are reasonably expected to do research before they buy products, the fact of the matter is most consumers are not going to know that detail. I don't use IEMs myself, I prefer over ear headphones, but I do see validity in their use with people who do like them. I've seen good things about this device though, even comes with a synthetic leather case, which means you can carry it with all the accessories while you're out and about and protect your gear.
  12. if it's Windows 11, it's possible you could fix the system with the reinstall update feature. That said, there have been complaints about the OS breaking itself on SSDs. With apps from third party software like from iobit you could potentially fix driver conflicts as well. Whatever it is you're troubleshooting, it's fixable but will take time. I've gone over to Ubuntu though, it's more stable for me.
  13. I don't like picking favourites because they've all got something good about them. However since they are fictional characters I am not going to come off as biased if I do say this. Princess Luna is beautiful, star gazing with her and doing harmless pranks on Halloween (Nightmare Night in Equestria, I know) would be fun. I've wished for a dream about this with her.
  14. We can take solace in the fact that imaginary monsters cannot harm us, physics protects us from that.

  17. Princess Luna and Princess Celestia are responsible for more than just day and night, technically speaking, because their world needs heat from the sun, and without it, it gets cold. It would never make any sense otherwise. They're extremely powerful, it's why I said they represent the balance of the forces of nature, one without the other brings ruin.

  19. "3, Merry Christmas you filthy animal, and a happy New Year!"

Such an extreme punishment for having an affair. :pinkiehappy:

Home Alone 2 is one of my favourite Christmas movies.

  20.

"You was here, and you was smooching with my brother!" :ButtercupLaugh:

such shocked reactions from all 5 of them.

  21. Home Alone 2, Tim Curry's performance as the Concierge of the Five Star Hotel was brilliant and funny at the same time. A little spoiler, for individuals who have not seen this movie yet, you have the option to not continue reading. Kevin got the unfortunate experience of life as a homeless person briefly, but what saved him was his street wisdom, and setting up a trap to distract Harry and Marv long enough for authorities to arrive. There were some mistakes in that movie, of course, like Kevin being 10 years old when he should have been 9 years old, but the movie is still a beloved gem as far as Christmas movies go.
  22. Yup, Never mess with Fluttershy, she is awesome.
