Yeah, I found this because of his twitter post as well. wonder if it was refered to him, or he lurks? XD Anyway, I don't have a problem with him being on the show. would bring more attention to it. plus he's a fan so it wouldn't be like adding some random celebrity for no reason. and I think the writers are good enough to find a role for him, even if its just a cameo.

That Hardware store was awesome. The "Automatic Circumsizer" bit in the bridge literally had me howling with laughter. This is short, but its good for when you convert someone to pony. XD

Going by other fandoms i've been in, we'd get more Male-on-Male shipping, but thats about it. There is the idea that more females would mean the community wouldn't get the attention it does ("guys like MLP? da fug?!11") and so the community wouldn't be as big since the negative attention has contributed alot to our growth (rule #19). its possible but I don't see it happening.

Not a fan of shipping, especially if it just doesn't make sense. but I don't get mad over it, and can enjoy a well done piece of art or video.

Generally all over. I read almost all the EqD posts. look at and enjoy all the art, customs, etc. not much into fanfiction though so generally don't bother with them. I spend most of my time though in the music and video section of the fandom. I DLed the mlp music archive and stuck it on my creative zen mp3 player and sift through it at work while on break/lunch. found alot of great artists. a watch all the pony vids that pop up, especially the animations. I don't create music myself, though i'll probably try it out. i have dabbled in PMVs and random vids. also working in Source FilmMaker and have a few projects i'm working on. but don't have as much time as i'd like. Want to create more as I have ideas, but just not the time.

Not much into fanfics ingeneral. Never have been, even before the only ones I ever read were mistings (surprised there aren't any of those around in mlp.) and especially grimdark. for some reason its just not appealing when ponies are involved. it took a long time before i started on Fallout: Equestria. and that was only really ok because it doesn't focus on any known characters outside of derpy/ditzy and the backstories. Cupcakes especially I avoided like the plague, and still haven't technically read it. But I was going through the mlp music archive and came across Tarby's rock opera version of it (titled something broke) and didn't know what it was at first. it wasn't until 3/4 of the way in did i realise it. and i groaned. if it wasn't for the fact he did a very good job with it i would have just deleted them. oddly late night accident, hide the body, and cupcakes ended being my favorite tracks :/

gah, its really hard to choose. Top artists I guess would be Makkon and Miu, also Tarby (another rock opera guy, but he did cupcakes so take that as it is XD. he also did other great stuff), Micthemicrophone, tombstone, art attack, Princewhatever, ISMBOF, mandopony, ibringdalulz, archie, alex s, jackle app, brony MACH, i could go on and on and on. there are so many i love. I do want to give an honorable to Cristina larson who worked (and debuted i believe) on Ponyphonics recent release. such a great voice (and Phonic himself). and Dasha who did Good Girl with Tombstone.

Show ofcourse isn't perfect, but nothing there that really bothers me. for fandom. people complain about stupid **** way to much. and people love to throw around the term Rule 34 but yet seem to have no grasp on what it actually is. Rule 34: there is porn of it, NO EXCEPTIONS. if you can't handle that, you need to shut down your internet now and go live under a rock, or get over it. porn exists in EVERY fandom. and existed long before the internet was created. and if you think that because its ponies, its wrong, trust me, there is worse stuff out there. any one that knows about doujins knows what i mean. its not hurting you, or anyone. whining about it makes you no better then the other haters spamming "gay" on anything pony related out there. on the supposedly "shoving ponies in other people's faces". 1, having a pony avatar isn't forcing it in other's faces. 2, neither is commenting on a video about how a pony vid brought you there. 3, niether is supposed "Ponifications". that stuff happens with all fandoms. people enjoy the show and want to share it with others. its natural, its called being a fan. just because its pony doesn't make it automatically bad. and on the third bit above, don't go around complaining about it and then treat any of the reverse as acceptable. thats just being a hypocrit. if ponifying something is wrong, then so is bringing other fandoms into pony. thats mean Dr Hooves is wrong, that means the trailers are wrong, or PMVs or any pony vid using music or sound clips from some other movie, show or video game. or any piece of fan art showing ponies looking like characters from a game/movie/book/etc. or crossover fics. if you want to go around saying "stop putting ponies in everything" then you also need to say "keep you fandom out of ponies"

when Eqd hit their 200 million pageview milestone they posted their site stats. there were close to 7 million unique views (ie 7 million unique IP addresses). now even if you take into account people without static ip addresses, haters viewing, non-fans being linked to it, and people just getting their accidentally thats still at least more then a million. and not counting all the bronies that never went there, or don't even go online.

How long the show lasts is hard to say. i haven't really seen the ratings for the eps but i understand they are fairly strong in general.if it continues in that direction all the better. the fandom as it is now, i think would last a good while after. consider that the community is nearly double what it was when this thread was created (if the EqD, and other site's stats are anything to go by) but there things looming on the horizon that will effect the future of the show and its fandom. Firstly, there are a good number of major fan projects that are entering into their final stages of completion. Double Rainboom, Fighting is magic, children of the night, and others. these could have an impact as, like with the music people are going to see them and get inspired to do their own thing. and ofcourse you have source filmmaker which i think has great potential for awesomness, but is only starting to be untilized. I await the day when we see something major come from that. secondly, you have the music. right now, pony music is kind of a Lost World, a new continent, of the internet. its big and impressive, but is very enclosed and most of the outside world knows NOTHING about it. its only a matter of time before our music and musicians get recognized by the mainstream. Getting Discord onto rock band is a good first step, but i see more in the future. and once that flood gate is opened, once a musician gets featured on some major show, or even earns a major award, who knows how big the tidal wave could become. thirdly, on the negative side, you have that companies can at times be vary single minded when it comes to their properties and the demographics thereof. and yes hasbro has been VERY accepting of us, but it is clear there is resistence in their ranks. signs of uncertainty about all this. lack of blu rays for the current releases, lack of dvd/blu-ray box sets, lack of soundtracks. the issues over the toys (no molded hair figures in larger sizes, pinklestia, etc), things like that. i see the possiblity of a conflict at some point. now this may never happen, but it is a fear that that hesitation will come to a head in the future. those are my thoughts on all this.

I meant the Jedi rarity thing. but thats the thing, if you hate it, even if it is a small reference then to you it IS shoving it in your face. and trust me, if i hated Dr Who i'd be raging all over the place. Is "ponifying" ponies invading other fandoms, or other fandoms invading ponies? What they do is no different then any other fandom. and its the height of unfairness to call out bronies, but allowing it for everyone else.

In all honesty, i'd still be a blank flank as i still don't know what i want to do with my life. i'd say i can definetly relate to the CMC.

Then i would say, leave the internet now, cause if shoving a fandom in your face is annoying to you, you won't find any area of the internet where it doesn't happen, and i don't just mean with ponies either. case in point, look above your avatar on your post. what does it say? it may be a small thing, but i could point to MANY more examples.

Gah, so hard to choose. if you mean music. i love so many but Makkon and Miu are two of my favorites. Silva Hound and art attack did a song for balloon party called How Far We've come. and i absolutly loved it, but on the after party album they did a version of the song with Miu doing vocals. and i can not possibly tell you how much I -ing love that -ing song. for other types. mmmandarinorange is great for PMVs and random vids. also love sherclop pones, and the Thinking with portals series. Poninator is good. and i have to give props to brony comms for being one of the first bronies online i started watching videos from.

Then that message needs to be givin to every other fandom online, not just bronies. Thats the thing that bugs me in this. That WE are expected to keep it to ourselves, but no one else is.

You are absolutely right. I watch porn, and have read lemon fics in the past, even read doujins and you know what they can be like. But with ponies i just don't have an interest. its the same reason i tend to avoid darker material, i've seen and even enjoyed some dark stuff, but i don't seek it out. i've never read cupcakes, never seen shed.mov (have seen the rest though), and have no interest in them. hell, i even avoided Friendship is witchcraft for quite awhile because of that. I dunno why, its just this show doesn't lend itself to that kind of material for me.

I've never seen that happen, and i've also never seen bronies "rubbing the show in people's faces". the MOST i have ever seen was say, someone makes a pony vid with a song, sound clip, etc and when you search for the original video someone says something like "<pony vid> brought me here". ofcourse you see that ALL THE TIME with stuff that is non-pony, but only when its pony related does it get hate and starts a flame war. for example, Duck, that vid that was part of anthology 2 with the a duck singing a barber of seville song. when i found one of the original vids soemone had just posted "Duck?" that was it and the only reference. the responce to the effect "please keep you pony shit out of here, thank you". I'm just thinking, but you were the first and only one to mention pony here. Seriously, the haters are just losers who love to troll. all the proof you need is if you see a flame war, make a logical and rational response to something they say and watch it get completely ignored.

I don't get into it. Never been interested. but if other like it its cool. My only thing is i've always hated the term clopping used in this way. to me clopping is and will always be pony clapping. it just fit too well to use any other term.
