  1. It's a tough choice. As it stands, Equestria has some very daunting weaknesses. It took an extreme level of intervention to deal with the parasprites on Celestia's side. Pinkie Pie thwarted the parasprites in a single act. Obviously if it took everything Celestia had to deal with...that....then something could be wrong. Then we go on with the changelings, and the few other mishaps that went on...couple that with the fact Celestia barely ever intervenes and would rather hang her people out to dry (some would say she's letting them solve their own problems though), one would be tempted to go with Luna. On the other hand, Luna is not stronger than Celestia. Considering it took 1,000 years AND the stars' help to escape Celestia's forced banishment, Luna can't be that strong. Luna sought love and warmth so much though, that she let power get the best of her and became NMM. She has the capacity to be strong, but does not currently fulfill said capacity. Under Luna's rule, we may be happier, but we would be even more vulnerable against threats. That isn't to say we couldn't work on strength with Luna, though. tl;dr: Celestia's attitude and ruling procedures are very hard to change. Luna's strength and stability can easily be changed. If no outside threats openly go after Equestria, Luna seems to be the better choice. However, if one likes the security of, "it works, don't fix it", stick with Celestia.
  2. *nod* If it's not hurting you or slowing you down, it's going to be okay. Though, one might say we shouldn't grow far too attached to anything, even life itself. Honestly though, the show and it's fandom isn't slowing down any day soon, so pony on!
  3. I'm a sucker for a more classical approach, thus Octavia wins my heart in music. As far as the characters themselves, that's....okay they're fairly close there. Again, however, I've a bit of a soft spot for the refined and elegant. Nothing against Scratch, but Octavia must take my vote.
  4. After watching the "Winter Wrap-up" episode, the song and scenes were stuck in my head for an entire night. I could barely manage any sleep, because it kept playing continuously. Thinking about it made it worse, and trying to not think about it made it even worse! Oh, it was unbearable.... ....Oh no. It's coming back! The melody! It's too cheery! It strikes my heart and distracts my mind...oh now what will I do...
  5. Oh my. What a perplexing and challenging conundrum. Who ships with who? Who adopts who? Oh, the wonders of a family tree that isn't pre-determined. Silly talk aside, this will be really cool to watch progress
  6. Aw. I was hoping they would make a different color That's fine. I'll probably end up getting White 2, as I have the first White.
  7. You march in there with every piece of pony merchandise you can find attached to you and look her dead in the eye. "Mother, I love ponies." The reaction could be....mixed. In seriousness, I'd just tell her it's a really neat show or your friends recommended it. That should work. Just try not to appear embarrased. When you're unsure about your adoration of ponies, people can feel it, and they might feed off of that uncertainty. Don't seem too proud, but don't seem weak. Maybe a Twilight Sparkle attitude would be appropriate.
  8. Hey, if there's one direct benefit, you won't ever be able to vomit! Of course, a bunch of ponies did get sick in "Call of the Cutie" and appeared to be able to vomit. So I guess it's fair to say Equestria's ponies don't follow the anatomical design of real ponies...I guess there would be no way to guess the particulars then! I love those thoughts were you end up answering yourself....
  9. People have been nailed to crosses for less than that. Jokes, jokes. Even if MLP:FiM is unlike anything I've seen for years, and the community activity is practically unparalleled, it is, at the end of the day, a fad. Albeit a good, long-run fad, but still. Look at Hello Kitty, for instance. Born in 1976, she enjoyed a huge level of popularity and cult following in the 80's, only to die off almost completely in the 90's. In the late 90's and 2000's, we saw a revival and HK is back. Soon, HK will die off again. MLP is just about the same, though it is -far- easier to revive a vague character (Hello Kitty) than an entire show and community. Don't feel bad at all! We'll all find something else to enjoy later down the dark road of a world no longer in love with ponies.
  10. 13 episode season just seems like a rush for being able to host the show on other channels or have a full year of re-runs. Comparing it to another show Lauren Faust birthed...the Powerpuff Girls went on for six seasons and a few movies. The management of the two cartoons are different, but the popularity level of the powerpuff girls was arguably same or lower than MLP:FiM. We're in for a ride. The hub, honestly, doesn't have tons of super-awesome shows it hosts (other than batman), and when MLP:FiM caught fire and just shot off, well, go to their website! You'll see the results. MLP is now practically the flagship series of the hub. I would reasonably not expect less than five seasons, but we could even see six.
  11. I personally feel Trixie and Gilda are the highest on my list for most arrogant characters. Trixie is completely aware that she's exploiting a lie, and she never really did anything "better" than the ponies who challenged her. She just kinda humiliated them. Gilda, on the other hand, is just a plain meanie. Maybe with the right treatment, she could be nice. Trixie is beyond saving. Every other villain had some sort of plan, plot, or reason for their actions. Snips & Snails fall into the "too stupid to rate" category xD
  12. Ever think that maybe they mistook the uproar of love for Derpy for negative publicity? Maybe when people were like, "Woo! Derpy!" the producers may have just seen that tons of people were talking about the character....Maybe it was just a mistake and then they're realizing, "Oh. You...actually liked that character." but they're still afraid of offending people....Just a bit of speculation.
  13. I would have to begin by patenting whatever technology was used to bring said pony into this world. I'd let people use it for free, but hey, you gotta reserve these things so businesses don't profit from our love. ...Then I would wonder why Twilight and I are wasting time kissing, and why we're not reading or sharing lectures!
  14. That's the largest and most beneficial effect on me thus far from the show. Sometimes I get a little down, and all I have to do is remember either a bit from the show, or an attitude from one of the characters, and I'll perk up and go on with my day. As far as coming out as a brony...I was born a male, into a family that sought the manly man of men as their son. When I got some Hello Kitty accesories for my car, my parents were extremely apprehensive. They've since given up the fight to make me "behave", and that's been a relief. I think they would actually be happier with me switching my interest into ponies than kitties. My friends, on the other hand, laughed at me when I told them I didn't like the same things they did, and that I liked the cuter side of life. Once I told them I really took a liking to the show, however, the backlash from it was immense. I was probably hanging out with the wrong crowd. I apparently, "wasn't one of them" anymore. Oh well. Time to make more friends! The great thing about ponies is you can relate any situation to any pony. I might be a Fluttershy around new people, but Twi's spirit helps me see the magic in friendship!
  15. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Twilight Sparkle How did you find MLP Forums?: Reddit, O consumer of time. How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I'd really liked the artwork and "brony culture" online for some time, but honestly, I was scared to watch MLP:FiM. Why scared? Well, I have an undying habit of getting way too high on the emotional roller coaster when it comes to animes or cartoons. When the episodes are done, I have a history of slipping into a depressive funk for days or a week. Finally though, once I saw the extreme scale of MLP:FiM's fanbase and how well the show is going, I've decided to swallow that fear and watch it. I'm a twenty two year old robot (BEEP) from Mississippi, USA. Oh yes, the glorious bible belt, epitome of human advancement and tolerance. It's fine though. I have so much online to explore and so many people to meet here that real life just doesn't bother me. Right now, I'm waiting for school to start, and I'm pretty lonely. I only go to a community college, and I don't have any friends at all. I had a few online, but once I sorta...declared my love for the cuter side of life, I was pretty much shunned out. That leads me here! I'm currently only 12 episodes into season 1, and I can say that this is the first show I have actually caught myself smiling like a little girl. The entire show is just so....gosh darn good! My stars, I thought all modern cartoons were going to be bad, but MLP:FiM sure showed me up! It's giving me a happy new outlook on life, motivation to change, and a thirst for fun! Sure, I get depressed sometimes because I know a lot of people in the real world would rather see such messages burn, but I have hope for the few that would embrace friendship over bigotry! All being said, I am -really- looking for a neat group of people to play a (or many) games with. I'm a fan of MMORPGs or just MMO games in general, and a real lover of those not-so-brutal games and real teamwork. I hope I can be a nice addition to someone's parade! See you all around!
