Rascal~ 657 June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 I couldn't find a thread like this, so...When I was real little, I really wanted to be Indiana Jones when I was older. I would jump from a ledge in my backyard onto a swing set I used to have, and I would pretend that I would be jumping over a bottomless pit or a huge chasm, and then sometimes I would pretend that a huge boulder was coming after me as I jumped, so when I made it to safety I would look back and see the imaginary boulder fall into the imaginary chasm below. It was heaps of fun, and I do miss those days. But what about you? Did you guys wanna be an astronaught? Or a Doctor? Or a Hermit? 2 Fire Sharp Stardust Sai Time Scribe Chai
Fluttershyfan94 5,742 June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 (edited) Yeah, well may not be the most impressive but excavator operator was the first thing. Then an astronaut, allergist and a shapeshifter. Very different now though, but I'm interested in how things work that is probably why I was and still am interested in excavators, humans, cars, computers and more. Obsidian Sky 14,004 June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 (edited) I always wanted to be an palaeontologist or archaeologist! Uncovering the secrets of the past, filling the blank pages of the book of knowledge... There is still so much we don't know yet, or things that the collective memory of the human race just forgot. We can learn so much from the history. If we know where we came from, we understand better where we will go in the future. Edit: Im not saying that Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones influenced me there... But they kinda influenced me there... StoneBrony 11 June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 Paleontology, almost anything in the natural sciences. Working in a museum was definitely a dream. Then I hit high school and found the humanities, social sciences and theater. Then it was maybe linguistics, which led to anthropology, having a crazy awesome archaeology professor made me lean towards that. Then full-time meat cutting made me decent money (buying a house means I'm not doing too bad I guess). I would have most likely ended up not using a degree, as there isn't much money in what I like. I don't consider myself to be as much of an adult to call myself "grown up", being called "Mr" feels weird even at 31. So there's still time to decide I guess.

Envy 6,192 June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 Originally I wanted to be a cartoonist/draw comics.. For some reason, I thought I had a sense of humor, and that my ability to draw could be sufficient. Obviously, neither of those are true. When I was a preteen, I was introduced to music, and wanted to become a jazz trumpeter. lol. Then later in my teens I wanted to play the bassoon in a professional orchestra. Everything needs more woodwind!
AppleLover 146 June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 I used to want to be many things. I wanted to be in the army, a policeman, a king, and a wolf. I still want to be in the military, but now I want to be a veterinarian as well. Thank you Pink Mist for this amazing signature! DubWolf 17,363 June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 It's safe to say that when we were little, a lot of us wanted to be something we always saw; a firefighter, a police officer, a baker or teacher. Eventually we became more aware of the many different careers that exist, so we grew interested in those. For me, it was a pilot (then I was scared if heights), then a meteorologist, then an astronomer, then a... well I wouldn't be little at this point . I decided on becoming an airline pilot eventually. Celtore 2,770 June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 A pokemon master. I recently achieved this goal! As a career, I wanted to be a paleontologist or train engineer. I loved dinosaurs and had numerous books on them. The same goes for trains, my grandpa had these binders full of train models and statistics on them. We put binding protectors on 5 binders worth of pages. I still have more to add possibly later. I just need to find where the boxes are.

AppleDerpy20 59 June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 I wanted to be a game tester, but then a friend of mine waltzed in and claimed to have the idea first (he wants to work for Nintendo.), which lead to an argument and not talking to each other for a week or so, then in 2009, my grandfather had passed away (Oct. 9, 2009, 5:30 AM. It was really depressing for me. ), so during December that year, at night, at my dad's friend's house, I spotted her guitar and picked up and played it, and I hadn't turned back since.
crazitaco 596 June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 When I was really little, I wanted to be a paleontologist because I was fascinated by fossils and dinosaurs. As I got a little older, I wanted to be a veterinarian because I loved animals, but changed my mind because sick/dying animals break my heart too much. As a teen, I wanted to be a marine biologist because I find ocean life fascinating. Now I'm majoring in art, because I want to do something I know I can be good at. Not sure if I want to be an animator, tattoo artist, or art teacher. *Click the picture to join the Nega-Bronies!* "Every cloud has a silver lining" *except for the mushroom-shaped ones which have a lining of Caesium-127, Strontium-90 and other radioactive isotopes. Clopinkie 86 June 5, 2014 Share June 5, 2014 When I was young, I always wanted to be a professional athlete of some sort, with my two biggest aspirations being an NHL goaltender (which went nowhere because I suck at skating), or a professional golfer. I always figured that if those two didn't work, I'd like to become a teacher, but by the time I hit high school that didn't interest me anymore, either.
