Well, I wouldn't say that exactly...they did have that moment during 'secret of my excess' which means she knows how he feels, and she feels the same too.( at least I think so) It's just that they aren't ready to...you know, date. You can technically be friends, and boy friend girl friend

Whoa whoa whoa...he's still a child, man. I mean, ship Sparity if you want, but I don't think she feels that way about him right now because she's not a pedophile -_- Maybe when he's older, I can see it being a possibility, but right now? He's a baby, dude

Well, sure he's technically a "baby" but as we all know, dragons don't age the same, which means he's not that much younger than twilight, which means he's about in his teens or so

1.) He'd still be a minor if he was a teenager, which is still considered statutory rape.

 

2.) Twilight hatched him when she first became a student of Celestia, and she was about the age of the CMCs at that point in time - the CMCs are depicted as being between 8 and 12 years old, so there's at least and 8 year difference between him and Twilight, and Rarity is often depicted as being one of the older of the mane 6 (or, at least, that's how the fandom feels. I think they're all really close in age, personally.)

 

3.) He still displays the mannerisms of a child and was depicted as being smaller than the teenage dragons in "Dragon Quest"

Maybe Spike is with Rarity but Spike may end up taking an interest in another mare or possibly female dragon (though that is a bit less likely) someday.
