Your thoughts about shippings

This time,we're going to tañk about shippings.
If you stayed at least a few months on the fandom,you'll probably noticed that there's a profiterance on shipping multiple characters with each other,even if it doesn't make sense.

Well,this time,the question is:Did your thoughts about shippings changed with the time?
On my case,they changed.When I joined the fandom,I didn't liked shippings,calling them "nonsensical",but now I love to ship ponies together :3

So,what are your thoughts about the ahippings?

I ultimately don't care for them,tho i wont say i don't participate in the fun of it sometimes. 

 

i most certainly don't give two shits for Pinkie Pie ships,especially CheesePie.

 

Tho people are gonna do what they want,however certain ships like FlutterMac boggle my mind.

"OH LOOK! LYRA AND BON BON ARE SEEN SITTING WITH EACH OTHER! THAT MEANS THAT THEY LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH THEY'RE THE PERFECT PAIR!!111!!!1". Wanna know who else sits with each other? Good friends. And I find it stupid shipping two my little ponies together...

I'm not totally against shipping as long as it makes sense.

For example, do you really see Big Macintosh and Fluttershy together? That just seems ridiculous to me.

I think shipping all together is pointless. What's the point? Why do that on a show that focuses on friendship? Is friendship not enough?

And by "a few pairings" I mean canon pairings (like Shining Armor X Cadance) or potentially canon pairings (like Cheerilee X Big Macintosh).

I do not support 95% of the fanon pairings.

I support canon shippings, like Shining and Cadance, or Celestia and alternate world Sombra (and big macx cheerliee). As for non canon ships I don't really care, they are fine in fanfiction or fan artwork, and as long as you do not become so infatuated with your own headcanon that you begin to argue that the shipping is real, and should feature prominently I really do not care. Often they are just little jokes or the basis to get two ponies you find attractive together in one area.

I see them as attempts to express better friendship between two characters that do not get any significant screen time together. Some take it in a different direction and that is okay too as long as they understand that it is more abnormal not only in the fandom but even in the fictional universe they are taking inspiration from.

I don't mind shipping actually, it's there for fun but sometimes it kinda gets ridiculous but it's still doesn't cause any harm though.

It's a community thing i think most of other fandom have their own shipping as well, *cough* Adventure time *cough* but it's still fun seeing some fan made relationship to some characters.

I've always liked shipping, but I lately seem them being taken to the extreme, dislestia comes to mind. Just because he offered some flowers to her to make amends, doesn't mean he's flirting with her

Eh, I'm not the biggest fan of it, but I can like it here and there. I do like the official ships like Celestia & AU Sombra.

 

I also like to play with some unofficial ships like TwiDash, RariJack, and Sombra x Chrysalis, but I won't strictly hold to those.

I started off with just a bit of disdain due to still having been a slight homophobe at the time (just to be clear, I'm fully supportive of LGBTQ now). But because it was just ponies and mostly lesbian (double standards, yes), it didn't phaze me nearly as much as all the yaoi back when I was into the Fire Emblem series. So when I dropped the whole homophobish thing, I lightened up where I don't see ships as being any different than other fanworks, really. Sometimes I get into the shipping bandwagon just for fun. Especially ships that test the boundaries of absurdity. You know, for laughs. Admittedly, some ships I do find cute. Like FlutterSpike

I thought it was pretty strange when I joined the fandom, to ship cartoon characters. However, I supported it; I think shipping's awesome, but I don't spam it like others do. I just have my thoughts of OTPs, but it doesn't mean I have to spam it towards other people. ^^

 

As long as it's not porn of the pair, I think it's perfectly fine to do. (Not that I really ship that much myself.)

While I don't personally ship any of the Mane 6, it doesn't bother me in the least. Also, I do freely accept the popular fan depictions of some BG Pony ships.

 

There are some cannon romances I would support if the writers went that direction. Big Mac with Cheerilee would make sense.

Before I didn't really see the point in shipping, but now it is fun to ship some pairings. I don't ship everypony, but there are a few like Rainbow Dash & Soarin or Doctor Whooves & Derpy that I support.

 

(I also ship Flashlight but not many others quite like that shipping )

I love to ship ponies.  I usually ship them FedEx.  Sometimes I use the Amazon Express option.  Overnight shipping is nice, but usually I try to save money and just ship them normally.

 

I just couldn't resist.  I mean, it's just such a funny phrase.  "Shipping."  Lol.

 

In all seriousness, I'm pretty neutral.  None of it bothers me.  I mean, if it's fun, why not?  Obviously the non-sensical ones wouldn't be on the show.  The only possible ones that would be on the show are ones like Big M and Cheerilee.  (Which I totally think they should develope, btw.)

 

Anyway, I didn't really have an interest in it before, but I was kind of sold on it after seeing TwiDash Hearts and Hooves Day.  That was adorable.  Now, hypothetically, if, if the show was targeted for adults, and if, if they actually had two of the main six, like Twi and Dash for example, turn out to be gay and get together, I would actually love that.  It would just be so...idk...hip.  But I just love romance anyway.  But that's just a hypothetical.  I don't actually want that to happen on the show.  Just saying that if it did, hypothetically, I would be all for it, if it was done well.

I didn't know about it at first, but now, I completely approve of it. I don't expect it in the show, but in fanfiction, yes. I think it's adorable, and sometimes heartwarming. My favorite ship being TwiDash because I think they're adorable together.

MLP is what led me to ship in the first place lol; honestly never wanted / thought to do it before MLP.  And I was already shipping ponies before I joined the fandom proper.  I always ship with Rainbow Dash, and I only ship her with other mares / other members of the Mane Six.  Myself being the exception, as I am neither a mare nor a member of the Mane Six.   First there was AppleDash, then there was FlutterDash, and THEN I embraced RainbowPie (I love that ship name) as my OTP.  But then I saw some really touching fanmade thing and...  Maybe I'll ship TwiDash, too.  It is "TwiDash," right?  Not...  RainbowSparkle or anything?
