music Bullying and Making Death Threats Against Skrillex?

I have different tastes in music.

I love the different forms of electronic music ranging from house to brostep.

Allot people though, really do not like electronic brostep music.

One person that comes to mind that receives ALLOT of undeserved hate for his music is Skrillex.

Sure people may think he looks awkward and he makes music they don't like, but the hate has REALLY gone too far.

People have been bullying and making death threats against this guy.

For those of you who know the Brony reactor Alex Side, someone made a death threat against him and it reduced him to tears.

If one death threat can do that to a person, then what are all the death threats that Skrillex receives doing to him?

Sure the guy's rich, but does that mean he's happy?

I mean, the guy is doing what he loves.

Sure people may think it's low quality music, but are threats to one's life really necessary?

One way to REALLY hurt someone's feeling's is to say, "Do us all a favor and go kill yourself."

You have no idea by saying that, what it can do to a person's emotional state.

Not liking someone's music is one thing.

Making death threats and bullying them is NOT RIGHT though.

That's the price you pay for being famous. It's sad but that's how it is.

Bullying and death threats are always unnecessary. And many times with out any merit. It falls to the victim of the threat to rise above it and not let it drag them down, because at that point it did exactly what the person wanted. It's when you don't let it bother you and hurt you that's when you become stronger.

Unnecessary, uncool and just downright immature. Give the guy a break. He's cool, he's talented and he's very unique in his style.

I just wish people would appreciate the talent in him. Or better yet...get off their butts and go do something in life so they could be famous.

There's a point though, where it gets ridiculous.

Let's take an example of a child getting bullied at school.

He tries ignoring his bullies for a while, but eventually it becomes too much for him and he breaks down.

This has also happened with celebrities in the past.

Where they emotionally break down do to bullying and hurt themselves, sometimes even kill themselves.

Well if your famous then you really should expect death threats plus yea its really wrong to bully/send death threats just because you don't like their music drawing  opinions etc. Because if you do that then your being a complete jackass.

Like make a trashy sex tape? Or a offensive TV series?

One must analyze why some famous people(if not all) are hated(generally). Their are many reasons, but one is that people may feel said famous person in question doesn't deserve to be famous, that their fame is a result of something ignorant or that their talent is less than worthy of them being rich ect.

One could say Skrillex's music is crap and he doesn't deserve to be famous for it,thus hate is born with a side order of jealousy.

True true. I think it's jealousy and ignorance to start with. Or it could be misanthropy.

This is were I'm sad for kids today. When I was in school in the 90's even in the 2000's if ignoring it didn't work I pushed back. I always found the best way to stop a bully if ignoring them didn't work was to rise up and show them you arnt taking their crap. Sometimes it got physical but most of the time they were all bark and no bite. As for celebrities getting death threats that's just a natural part of that life. Jealous people hoping to bring you down in order to get some sort of pathetic joy in knowing they were able to adversely effect someone at a much higher social standing, And give their pitiful dead end life some meaning. Thaats why most celebrities are able to ignore it. I mean look at beiber, I loath the little ponce and all the crap he has pulled I'm sure have gotten him a few death threats l, but he just keeps on douchin it up.

Would those people ever think before putting comments on stuff they really dislike? Seriously. It just makes them look like fools and quite possibly, the culprits of all the hate on-going madness.

It's certainly jealousy, and jealousy is something we all have felt and do feel constantly. The difference between the person who just says "meh Skrillex is yuck, i don't see why he's so famous" and the person who goes "WTF SKRILLEX IS TRASH I HOPE HE DIES IN A ACCIDENT" is that the first person is wise enough to mitigate their jealousy,in other words: Let it go.

No one deserves death threats or any other forms of bullying for that matter.

However, on the Internet, people say stuff that they would never say in real life.

And I think that is the problem. When they don't like something, some people will go way too far in order to express their feelings.

On the other hand, I don't like Skrillex. I don't like his music and I don't like the way he looks.

Well, before posting a comment, just imagine that the person you're talking to is standing right in front of you and think. Would you say this "comment" to him in real life ? If you're doubting, then it would be probably better to not post that comment.

Sadly, most people armed with anonymity feel the power they lack in real life to harm others. How sad and pathetic, with very unfortunate victims like that guy  >_>

I don't like the guy's music, but telling someone to kill themselves because you don't like their music is just damned childish.

You could always just, you know, not listen to it >_>

Someone's going to run in here and say "It's the internet, bruh" but seriously? Is that a good reason for this sort of behavior? No, it isn't. It's cowardly to tell people things like that behind the safety of your computer monitor, because chances are you wouldn't say that if you were able to say so in real life. You're just going to abuse people from the safety of internet anonymity, and in my eyes, that just makes you a gigantic pussy.

God, man. People need to grow up.

Could not have said it better myself, not in a million years.

I don't care for his music either, but I'm mature enough to just ignore it. Like I do with any other genre/artist/whatever that I don't like.

I really hate the "but it's the internet" mentality and all the bs that goes on because of it. Frankly the world is doomed until we all learn to play nice and use common sense. People always want to shove their religious crap about "do unto others" down your throat in the real world, then they go home at night and hop on 4chan or whatever and be total d-bags. *hops off soapbox*

Sorry, but that's just a subject that really irks me. Especially since it's just written off like it's the way thing are meant to be.

This guys understand perfectly.

I don't care if he or she likes the music or the person himself. Telling someone to commit suicide is heinous. Imagine if Alex Side literally went through with the suicide. The person who sent that threat likely will get hit with an arrest warrant for manslaughter. "It's the Internet" is NO excuse for being a prick!

Ghostie, you hit the nail on the head.

Anyways, being that dubstep (or brostep, or whatever Skrilly is classified as) isn't one of my favourite genres, I can't bring myself to enjoy Skrillex. I, however, wouldn't go to his Facebook page and spam him with "UR MUSIC SOUNDS GAY AND U SHUD DYE" comments, because that just screams immaturity. Seriously, it's ridiculous that people leave death threats to people they don't like.

"Sounds gay?"

That insult sounds familiar.

These are probably the same people as the anti-Bronies you'd find on Steam.

I've always been a fan of Skrillex for a long time, and I will tell you this based on my fan experience researching about him. He has the toughest shell out of all the musicians, and you can tell by his voice that even though he's such a sweet guy, he's fierce enough to roll with not only punches, but bucking life and giving his fans lemon cake first before himself. He's selfless, and also believes in karma. I, myself, would say that karma, despite being the nasty critter, is always the sword in Justice's hands, and it will be used either instant or in the future. He has quoted about some of these haters. I've been keeping tabs on him and he said, “I don’t care if people hate me. I mean, I get it. When you were young, you were like, ‘The Backstreet Boys are gay!’ And kids are on computers now. I’ll post something on Facebook, and then, within two seconds, there are comments: 'Fxxx you dude… you suck… pxxxx… bxxxx… fxxxxx… you ruined dubstep… emo.' But if you look at their profiles, they’re so young.”

The only thing I wish I would say to him but couldn't is:

People are stupid. When they surf the web and stare at their screens, they completely forget that they are associating with real people with real souls and real feelings. It's a sick world :eww:

Amanda Todd made a couple mistakes, and she was a victim of pornographic blackmail, death threats, and physical assault. This is why kids need to be educated and restricted concerning the internet. They need to learn not to feed trolls, too. Adults need these lessons, too.

That's stupid, Skrillex is gonna keep doing his own things while haters hate.

We don't need to know this, there's hate for everyone, I'm suprised that no one gives much more hate to JB.

Even though I'm not familiar with Dubstep, it's an interesting and unique type of music, a rather odd one I have to admit, but while it still got tone, is music to me.

Skrillex is great doing his own thing, so good for him, he's succesful and that's brilliant.

That's just part of being famous. Sure he gets a lot of hate, and I'm sure it gets to him at times, but I'm assuming he's smart enough to understand that that is just the nature of people. He has talent, and he expresses it in a (somewhat) unusual way, and people love to hate on both of those things.

But yea, I feel bad for the guy. But I'm sure he's gotten over that whole situation by now.
