what are you a nerd? Cuz I reckon I'll give you a fix of it if you run your jaw around here, m8.

You can't deny that the majority of bronies are nerds. The fandom was started on 4chan, for God's sake. Sure, we have non-nerds, but they're the minority.

And Shai Hulud is so awesome.

Sorry, but I see a lot of impurities in this metal. Have you tried smelting it yet?

NOT THIS AGAIN. You enjoy After the Burial and other various -core acts, so shaddup.

I also found out that Comadre are breaking up after a final tour. That's actually really sad, because I just found out about them, loved the crap out of their self-titled record from this year, and then found out that it'll be their last. One of the groups to beat for screamo this year.

I'd say Ocean Machine is calm, if anything.

If we're looking for metal stuff, Ocean Machine would work but he already bought it. But from a general perspective those two work. I still listen to Ki on a daily basis, and there were numerous times where listening to Ghost while on the forums chat at 5am made me feel not sick, so I would recommend them.

Speaking of Ocean Machine though, @, you haven't listed to that sucka yet boiii?

Well, the most replies of a legitimate thread. A few forum lounge and forum game threads have way more. The GCT comes to mind.

Perhaps my favorite scenecore band. I listen to these guys all the time at Hot Topic.

Also I'm listening to the new Justin Timberlake and I apologize greatly for liking it. Especially you, Djenty.

A single from the recent Soilwork album. While the cares I have for them are very little, they know what they're doing.

This is a link to a new Jeff Loomis song released a while back. All I can say is if I wanted this kind of heaviness  I would've gone back to Nevermore...

I've never heard of that band before, but that was a pretty good song actually.

Excuse my ignorance, but what specific genre is that?

I actually remembered hearing one song by Comadre

And I thought that it was a pretty good song

It sucks to see awesome bands go

So many of the greatest bands have left

And now it's time to add Comadre onto the list

I'm not a huge fan of Nevermore, but Loomis is amazing. One of the best guitarists I've ever seen. His solo work is just brilliant.

Since everyone knows the best thing to do when you first pick up 7-string is try and cover a Periphery solo.

That little one right at 0:29... I really like it for some reason.

His old stuff was good. I've only heard that "Suit and Tie" song or whatever they play on the radio from his new one, but I didn't like it that much.

I gotta agree. The majority of anyone on the internet are nerds. I am a proud internet-addict, personally.

You should apologize for having such an awful ratio on what. Seriously, don't get my invite privs revoked.

Pop Punk/Melodic-Hardcore/Pop-core/core. They're usually catagorized with bands like Fall Out Boy and stuff.

This is one of the first death metal albums I've listened to in a while. It's good, but I definitely don't like Death Metal as much as I used to.

Been wanting to get this album for a while, but I feel too lazy to leave my house...

I'll second that. His second album shows a lot more beauty in simplicity.

Japanese metal that is actually in Japanese.  That's an anomaly.  It sounds like American power metal.

Well, what.cd is a private music tracker much like the pirate bay, but it's invite only. You have to keep a ratio, or "uploaded data/downloaded data". Basically, I invited Deku, and in just a week he has a 0.49 ratio, which can get him banned in the future.

Also, HIPSTER ISN'T A WORD HIPPIE

The prevalence of electronic music is probably due to the fact that we're ALMOST all nerds. Making electronic music isn't that hard to figure out for anyone who knows their way around a computer, which is a lot of bronies. You still have to be able to compose, but composing and learning to use FL Studios or Ableton Live is a lot easier than being able to compose, learning guitar/drums, finding a band, and recording stuff. Electronic is popular within our demographic, and is a lot more accessible than almost any othe type of music.

You're right, it's WAY easier to make electronic music than it is to play an instrument. I've been playing guitar for about a year now, when I first picked up the guitar I had little hope in myself that I would even get better. Lucky for me I DID get better. I'm still having a hard time with tremolo picking though :/

Here's some Greek metal \m/ These guys remind me of Bathory and Possessed.

What makes you say that?  I like them because even though they're a newer band, they have that proto-black/death metal sound. It sounds kinda like Sodom's first album or Sepultura's second album.

Gonna leave these here

Because I feel in the Cult of Luna mood

Actually it depends on the person

Some find it easy, others find it hard

And it also depends on what gear you have

Some people go and pay hundreds of dollars

For some stupid piece of software

That lets them browse and pick sounds

That are already loaded with compression and effects

And basically are the whole production studio in one package

Seriously people if you wanna make electronic music

Then you can learn how to program a synth

Technical thrash metal in the vein of Toxik, but with more gruff vocals.

Well, electronic musicians play instruments. It shouldn't be any less difficult to be good at a synthesizer or hardware-based sequencer than it is to be good at a guitar or drumset. Though I see what you're talking about. In regards to the a huge majority of this fandom's music being electronically produced, all of it's done on software, rather than with instruments. I even saw a thread on this forum where the OP was willing to dish out $400 on proprietary music software, rather than a MIDI keyboard or something that would actually help.

Also, you're tremolo picking with your wrist, right? Can't go too fast, or too long if you're pivoting from your elbow. And of course, you gotta practice 'till you're actually tired.

PREACH! I was already typing up that post though, so I'll leave the above up there. Yeah, pre-loaded sampling and preset scales are the bane of amateur electronic music.

It's because the guys I talk with on another site know tons beyond tons of death metal and thrash and more, and when someone drops a video about a band they mention, I assume that the person knows what they're doing. It's interesting if anything.

It took a 2 years, but I actually sat down and listened to Septicflesh's (Apparently they removed the space in their name) The Great Mass.

Wow, I am impressed. This is one of the first time that I didn't find the symphonic elements in a symphonic death album completely overpower the rest of the music. Plus, with riffing as heavy-hitting as Behemoth it's definitely worth a listen for something heavy.

Such a powerful intro. The female vocals are haunting and then Antonius comes in and... damn.

Might be up there as one of my top symphonic death albums.

Yes, I'm using my wrist and not my whole arm. I just can't go fast enough :(

So I've seen a couple of people at my school with Sadistic Intent shirts and decided to listen to them. They're pretty good.
