Grand Theft Auto Thread

I was looking through the forums and even searched in the tags, and I was surprised there wasn't a thread of this popular open world sandbox action series.

Who hasn't played GTA? I mean, unless you don't care for action-open world games like GTA. 

My personal favorite is still San Andreas, with V being a close second. My least favorite would have to be IV. It was boring and the game mechanics were a little sloppy. It was still pretty memorable, though. I haven't played the originals, though. 

Share your favorite moments from the series, your favorite game(s), or just random things you like to do, or chaos you like to cause!

Also, Can't wait for GTA V on PS4, as I no longer have my PS3!

Oh, really? I did not know. Well, I guess if there are the mods can just merge this the others.

 

EDIt, You're right about the search not working, but I looked through pages and did not find a thread solely for GTA. I found a GTA V brony group, but nothing else.

I meant for the whole series, not just one game.

Though, I'll be happy to have some discussion solely on GTA V.

So my answer to that is a big fat HELL YES!

Grand Theft Auto is the ultimate game where you literally get to do whatever you want.

 

It first started out as a 2D pixel game and then with the installment of Grand Theft Auto: III the game became 3D.

 

A personal favorite of mine is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Storywise, my favorite is GTA 4, despite being a cold blooded, remorseless, contract killer, Niko still manages to have a few shreds of humanity and morality left. 

Gameplaywise, GTA 5, i love the new vehilce handling and wide open rural playgrounds.

Grand Theft Auto is the best video game series I've ever played. I've always loved it and I've played every single game since III. My first video game was a Grand Theft Auto game and I got it when I was 6 years old.

 

On to answering the question, my favorite Grand Theft Auto game was Vice City. I just loved the 1980s and South Florida atmosphere. It had the best soundtrack ever. On that game, I actually liked almost every single radio station (with the exception of Wildstyle, the rap/hip-hop station). Whereas the other GTA games, I only listened to 1 station (2 max). I love how the game was influenced (in a way) by the 1980s show Miami Vice.

 

A close second would be Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Isn't this the game where you kill prostitutes for points. Just asking. I'm not all "No no ban it!". I'm just curious. A few of my stories have more than a "bit of the old ultra-violence" in them.

I was never really impressed by the series but GTA IV was a good concept. I wish they had executed it better. I am planning on getting GTA V later this week.

GTA is, in my opinion, the best video game series EVER. I've played just about every GTA game and am getting the next-gen rerelease in a few days. My favorite is San Andreas, it just brings back so many memories since it was the 1st one I played.

I've played gta, gta 3, gta vice city, gta San Andreas, gta advance, gta liberty city stories, gta vice city stories, gta 4, gta EFLC, gta Chinatown wars, and gta 5, so yeah, I'm a big fan of the series xD

Although timely, San Andreas imo is not the best GTA. I just plain like V better, and I found it to be more fun than SA (still had heaps of fun, I think somewhere I recounted the struggles me and a few friends had trying to ascend mount chilliad at 6 stars with tank after tank barreling down the mountain, trying to knock us off the side).

Although I do fondly remember playing SA with my cousin when I was pretty young a long time ago (this had to be shortly after its release) and he told me to tell my parents that we just played basketball, lol.

While I did love GTA V, like Angry Joe, I didn't feel like the story or the characters were very memorable. My favorites are still Vice City and San Andreas. One of the problems that I had with GTA V was the fact that some of the characters seemed inconsistent. For example, Michael and Trevor would be arguing like a married couple in a cutscene, then they would be talking as if the argument never happened while you were on your way to the destination. This got very annoying very quickly. It tended to get on Franklin's nerves as well.

I have played every GTA and beat most of them (GTA 3 is the only one I haven't beaten)..... personally I think GTA 5 is the best I played the Xbox 360 version of San Andreas and I enjoyed that as well it has a special place in my heart and GTA 4 is underrated, its not as bad as the critics say it is

GTA V's 1.18 update came out, with nothing to offer from Rockstar. They pretty much lied to us, again.

 

Sure people will be satisfied for PS4 and XB1, but for older gens like 360 and PS3? They dun goofed it up.

GTA: San Andreas was okay - I only really play it for the multiplayer now a days, which is a load of fun.

 

My fav. GTA(s) will, however, always be Vice City and GTA III.
