Visual novels, to be more specific the mystery genre. Sadly enough there aren't a lot of them out in english.

Otherwise I enjoy RPG games.

Free roam: Not so much a true sandbox like minecraft, but more of a complex world with an emphasis on adventure, exploration and just having fun with the game's environment.

 

You know, i was just talking to someone on another thread, if MLP should have a game, and now that you mentioned free-roam, it would be nice to have an MLP:FIM game that is MMORPG, and have the option to free-roam.

One cannot have just one. Well, I can't at least. I love RPG's, both western and JRPG though I have been playing a ton of Skyrim lately. Then there are hack n' slash games like Dynasty Warriors which I also love. Then there are shooters which are a pretty common favorite. I love leveling up in games like that, hits the pleasure centers in the brand for me. I wouldn't say racing is one of my favorite genres, but Forza 5 almost makes it so. Survival horror is another one that I would say but I don't play those games too often. I like them but it isn't a favorite unless the game is done really well.

 

I also like games like Animal Crossing and Roller-coaster Tycoon, so simulation? That works. I guess there aren't many genres that I won't play.

I tend to really enjoy RPGs. A lot of my favorite games for each platform I've played are an RPG in some way, and am currently considering diving into the world of MMORPGs with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn when I don't have all of these big investments ahead of me.

I have two that I really love. Tactical FPSs would be my first love, and when I say tactical I mean like full cover employment, real world weapon functions and "damage" to players, and very little health. Examples of this would be the earlier ghost recon games, and the Arma series. I love a shooter that not only brings the action, but does it in an incredibly real world style, with very little of the sprint jump shoot that plagues modern military shooters like battlefield. My second love would have to be RPGs. From Baldur's Gate, to the text based Cyberpunk 2020, I love a deep and story rich role play.

I like puzzles, shooters, RPGs, strategy.... if i had to choose, i'd say my most favorite of the bunch would be Action-RPGs, ones in which you get to choose your place in the setting, but you also get to jump straight into the action.

I like many genres but the one I play most would have to be RPGs. Strategy RPGs are usually my absolute favorite.

 

I typically prefer RPGs (and games in general) of the Japanese persuasion. Western-made games almost never have enough style.

RPGs are wonderful, but I also love Action games as well as a little strategy.

 

I've enjoyed a few puzzle games before, and I love to watch people play horror games. I have played a few horror games before, but I find it more fun to watch other people.

I like a lot of different kinds of games, though I tend to stay away from JRPGs like Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy...though I love Pokemon.
