As far as I know, we've never had a situation where we needed to use paid services. In the interview are you interviewed by one person or by the WHOLE staff? If we know enough about you already, we'll just talk to you casually to make sure you're a fit for the team. That can be done by anyone on their own discretion. Otherwise, you'll be given a structured interview (based on prepared questions) by either one or a few staff members (not the whole staff!). Additionally, Skype is a useful tool for speedy and effective collaboration, and staff meetings are generally held on Skype. While we'd be willing to provide accommodations if necessary, having a Skype account will be a significant boon to your application. It's certainly possible to create multiple Skype accounts, of course. I also have an account that I reserve strictly for professional purposes, but I created an account specifically for use on MLP Forums. Also, we did indeed receive your application. Good luck! We want to evenly distribute the workload so that no single moderator has to deal with dozens of reports. That's a sure way to burn out, and since it's been responsible for many moderators' departures, we want to combat this problem. That's precisely why they need Mauds mods, to handle the forms, and make it a safe, fun, and friendly environment. CD's assessment was spot-on. Most people don't realize the level of grief and frustration that comes with modding this place. Has a way of decreasing one's own affection for the forum too. It's a worthwhile endeavor for one who loves being here, but it comes at a cost, sometimes a very substantial one. Definitely something to enter into with both eyes open, which sadly many do not and really can't without experience. Gotta get your feet wet to fully appreciate the burden, and hopefully not lose much along the way. chaos rains 190 August 10, 2014 Share August 10, 2014 Ok as ive been here a short period I kind of got into an argument with a kid who was being insulting and because ive been on youtube so long forgot about the rules and am kind of worried would having points put a massive dent in becoming moderator as I would like to be able to put a hault to abusive behavior since we should be able to have a peaceful discussion without extremely horrible insults or flame wars. When I first got on I didnt know what to expect and was too used to the youtube channeland well youndont get any peace yhere accept when you log out but when you are on evetybody wants to insult you. Rules seem to be non existant. So you can imagine my surprise seeing how amazingly strict this site is and not in a bad way.
