I am nearly finished the second season of "Space Pirate Mito". Specifically "Space Pirate Mito: A Pair of Queens". This anime is totally off the wall insane, but get's surprisingly serious in the second season. There are some really odd things I won't mention,

(Like what happens to Mito's son in the last episode of season one)

but it's actually completely SFW.

I'm not going to pretend it was high art. But it gave a few laughs.

Don't judge me, but I just started watching Sekaii-ichi Hatsukoi.

 

It kept showing up in these MEPs I was watching and the artork was pretty, so I decided to see what all the fuss was about. It should be noted that I am SO not into Yaoi (one look at my anime list will tell you that..It's mainly shojo and magical girl) but I figured I'd give the show a chance and it's pretty decent so far. Plays out like a normal, anime love story...but with guys. And the background stuff about manga publishing is really helping me with one of my stories! (I have a character who's a mangaka).

I just started watching Magical Pokaan
(錬金3級 まじかる?ぽか～ん Renkin San-kyū Majikaru? Pokān)

 

It's quite a silly magical girl show, and I'm really enjoying it! It's about four magical princesses who have come to live on Earth (in a treehouse!) We have a werewolf, a vampire, a sorceress, and a robot! The opening sequence and song give no hint to the show actually being an almost slapstick comedy. The theme makes it seem so dark and dramatic!

Oh, and Liru is best werewolf!

Yes, she has adorable doggie ears and a tail, even in human form. But watch out. Under the light of a full moon, (or sometimes just a picture of the moon, or a CD rolling across the floor) she turns into a fearsome slavering beast cute little puppy!

I just got done watching Shattered Angels. From the beginning it tried to make itself seem beautiful and poetic in nature. They partially succeeded but a lot of things bogged it down, including a dumbass of a main character.

 

About halfway through shit happens and a lot of the annoying stuff gives way and the beautiful factor seeped in more. While things did kinda drag a bit at the end I'm almost satisfied with the way they finished it. The post-credits thing could have gone differently but that's a small gripe.

 

One of the things that I liked about it is that even though it kinda has mechs in it the mechs aren't even the focus and when they are used they appear and disappear during combat only as they're used instead of sitting around waiting for someone to pilot them. They could have done a lot with the combat with this but the focus is obviously not on that.

 

Overall it achieved what it was trying to do in spite of the slow pace and repetition. I'd give it a good 6/10.
