Sleep Paralysis is scary.

I remember having Sleep Paralysis when I was younger, no scary dreams, just unable to move. Although once I had my head in the pillow when that was happening and I almost could not breathe.  :(

I also have a friend that once had a bout of it where he saw Slender Man just flying around in his room. She said it was more funny then anything else.

Ether way, do you have any problems with it? Or any stories maybe?

I've gotten it a few times, and those few times I loved it. I couldn't move at all, and I got stuck in a really weird position, but when I woke up I felt amazing.

Wait, really?  I did not know there was an upside too it... What do you mean by felt amazing?

Meaning I didn't get sore or cramped at all that day/those days. And I felt energized.

I get sleep paralyses very regularly, and I can confirm that's it's a horrible experience.

It being a regular thing also means that I've become better at controlling the hallucinations/dreamy shit/whatever. Sometimes I can stop myself from seeing crazy things all together and wait until my body wakes up.  So there's a silver lining.

I'm over-due for sleep paralysis. Fortunately I'm smart enough to sit up when I know it's about to happen (when I get that "sinking" feeling). I can sense a "menacing presence" while it happens.. well thats what it is lol. I think about God and Jesus and somehow that makes it stop.

I've been reading a lot of people having this issue lately~

I think the closest I've come to something like that is a panic attack where I laid in bed all night long, unable to sleep, halve my face/body feeling numb and unable to move, my eyes were kinda glazed over staring off at nothing as my mind freaked out

Then one other time I had a dream I was falling and I woke up freaking out because I felt like I was continually falling into my bed and I kinda felt plastered into the mattress or something until I snapped out of it

I also use to get that sometime when I was younger, especially about an hour before it was time to get up for school I lied there and just simply could not move, quite scary indeed, and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't! :(

I've gotten it a few times, been years since I last had it, I think.  What I've always done is focus on moving 1 index finger or thumb till I can.  Then once I can move that I focus on moving the next finger, then once I can move that a 3rd finger.  Usually by that point I find I can move my hand.  Then once I can move my hand, thumb and fingers of 1 hand I focus on moving the rest of the arm.  I've found that once I do that that I am then out of it.

I've had it many times, mostly all of them like what you said in the OP: face down, into a pillow, unable to breath. Unable to move. Trying with all my might to just. Snap. Out of it. But I can't, and even a hard man like me starts crying. But it's hard to cry when you can't even more your face muscles.

I can't even make a witty joke here, guy. I'm getting anxious just thinking about it happening again.

So have the best happy-maker I can think of

Oh yes..... the infamous state of being half wide awake, and half in dream state...... Common effects of this are hallucinations, extremt.e feelings of dread, and of course not being able to move.

Or in other terms, its hell.

I've gotten it twice and both times I wasn't even scared at all. the first time. I fell asleep watching youtube and luckily I was watching a long playlist so I just watched some swoozie until it was done. and the second time I found out why it was happening so I just kept in mind that everything that may appear is fake and kept repeating fuck off to anything that would

I've had it pretty bad before but the worst hallucination I've ever experienced was black mist and creepy rustling noises like there was something moving around my bed. I think it happens when the chemicals in your blood that keep you paralyzed during REM so you don't act out your dreams stick around after you've woken up, basically the opposite of Night Terrors where there aren't enough of the chemicals and so you thrash around and scream in your sleep.

It really is. D: I've dealt with it a few times in the past, and I often feel so scared. However, I haven't had it in ages though, so I guess that's a good thing. Luckily, I was so paralyzed I couldn't hear or see anything. I don't EVER want to go through it again.

I've had it a few times as well.  The worst (and first) time was when I arrived for my shift at work and my boss said he didn't need me for a few more hours, so I took a nap in my car.  Woke up with the paralysis.  Very scary.  Horrifying.  What made it worse is that I had no idea what it was at the time.  Had never heard of it before.  I didn't know it was an actual thing.  I've gotten it a few more times at home, very rarely, but it's not quite as scary, since I know what it is.  It's just like, "Oh no, not again."  Then I just scream and thrash around in my mind until I finally shoot up in bed for real, soaked in sweat.
