Hate

I can say that I don't hate many things. I may dislike something, but to really hate something is a bit harsh I think.  Many people have hurt me or used me but I don't hate them. Why you may ask. I don't hate them because hate never produces anything good. You could say that hate is step towards depression. I don't hate haters either because the hate they produce is their own decision and I respect their decision. I may not agree what they say but that doesn't give me reason to insult hater just because they insulted me or someone else.

It may feel bad to receive hate or see hate in general, but why should you care about that. You can always ignore that, but responding hate with hate is worst thing you can do. Hating is not good option when dealing with haters.  I think that if you hate something it bothers you so much that it doesn't go away. You may forget it for a small times, but you still hate it. Those times you must remember to look the bright side. Keep your focus on the good, because if you let the hate take you it makes all good invisible. You maybe experienced that feeling when it feels that everything is against you or something like that. Don't let that feeling take you away from the people who love you.

I think the only weapon that can beat hate is loving and tolerating. If you show the haters that you accept their assumptions even if you disagree with them and show them little kindness then there isn't much to hate anymore. Though there are always those haters who just don't make any sense at all then the best you can do is ignore them. Arguing with them makes things just go the way the hater wants them to go.

I try to follow this rule myself and try to be kind to everyone no matter what are they hate or what they like, because that doesn't give you the right to be rude. There is no reason to be rude to anyone around you. But why people then are rude and haters? Well because they CAN. Nothing stops people from being rude or hater that is their own decision and I respect decisions that people made are they good or bad in my opinion. I can try to give the person some constructive feedback or my opinion about their assumptions or opinions, but I shouldn't force them in any way or insult them because of their assumption or opinion.

I hardly receive myself any kindness or love but I still try to be good example to people and show them the way I think the life would be most enjoyable.

Well, I can agree that hate is an extreme term. That being said does anyone truly and genuinely hate us bronies?

Well someone may hate bronies, but I don't think that is wrong in any way. People have their own opinions and I think they can have them. There is nothing wrong with it.

I agree with you, hatred can only be combated with compassion but do not know what really caused the hatred in someone and so can not take it personally, I never had this problem with any type of person, I have I had moments that seemed like everything and everyone was against me but everyone goes through it, again totally agree with you.

But what reason then do they have to justify this? If we aren't affecting them in any way. I understand the criticisms directed at this fandom, he'll, I used to be one of those critics, but I never "hated" it, nor found a justifiable reason too.

This thread is all sorts of awesomeness combined to form a single form of awesome... totally agreed.

Although i would say there are two types of hate. Reasonable and unreasonable. We should avoid being people who receive reasonable hate, and about the unreasonable hate, there isn't much we can do but try and convert the hater.

Hate seems like a natural thing, but I know very well how much of a burden it is to bear. It can mess up your school, work, family, and your whole life in general. And you can't just stop it either, you can pretend to stop hating something and hide it, but you will still get that horrible feeling. To hate is painful, and it only feels good if things go your way

Like I said in OP you CAN hate nothing stops you from doing that. I just think that world could be better without hate and we as individuals can everyone do our part to give best example of kindness and tolerating to others.

I personally don't think that hating can "feel" good, because I think hating is to wish bad things to others and that is not good. No human deserves bad things happening to them. And if things go to your way it may first feel better, but when time passes it starts haunting you.

Agreed, it's not like we can make them stop, if anything that's going to make them hate us more.

Hah... i'm suddenly under the impression that we're like two peas in a pod, you and i.

I share the sentiments with you there, friend. Years ago, i was very stupid and very hateful towards the world. There was a deep, seething hatred inside of me, like a boiling fire seeping through my veins, forcing me to become something i'm not. I was very vain, and very angry, and i hurt a lot of people - some that deserved it, and some that didn't. It was only after i was burned by that same fire that my hatred was replaced with emptiness, and then by enlightenment. I was just sick of the hate all around me, and especially inside of me. So i decided to devote myself into helping others in any way i can, because i learned that helping someone else brings me a lot more joy than stomping over them.

:)

Trust me, if you truly hate someone, and something bad happens to that person...it's a pretty good feeling. This is based on personal experiences, by the way

I know that and that is the power of hate it can make you feel good doing or wishing bad things. I once felt good when I thought killing my bullies, but now I don't want to hurt them anymore and I feel bad because I thought of that thing back then.

Yeah...there is a way around, of course, which is to forgive and forget. It can be hard, but it's the best option, no doubt.

Hate is something natural for us, the humans. We're some of the few beings on the planet that can feel, so we try to express or feelings the best way we can unlike any other thing on the Earth, by talking. Or in the case of the Internet, writing and chatting. Hate is something very silly, as it doesn't have an exact purpose in life.

Hatred comes mostly from the lack of knowledge a person has about something. I learned a lot about bronies from joining here and Brony Square. I realize that not all bronies are bad people, and that a lot of them are actually really nice people. So far, I have not run into any bad bronies here during my stay so far. It's been a very helpful and considerate community. I like that about forums because it makes me want to stay longer.

Hatred is usually (not always) a useless emotion. I think that some people just feel a need to hate things to sustain themselves. If you really hate something, it's best just to ignore it, even if that's difficult sometimes.

When do you think it's useful? And why? I'm just curious.

Fair question. I can think of two scenarios:

1. Motivation. This is probably not the best way to motivate yourself, but it can be very, very effective.

2. When it's actually justified. To be honest, I don't think it's healthy to love and tolerate something you hate just because of the principle. Like I said, it's usually better to ignore it, but I feel like this isn't always possible.

That's true! Hate can give you great motivation, but I believe you could gain that same motivation by loving and being kind, but hate is definitely easier to gain. But you could ask to yourself is that good way to motivate yourself, when you hate something so much you can lose control and something that you would regret.

That is also true. Loving and tolerating aren't easy task to do if you try to do that to someone you hate and I think doing that is wrong. You must first forgive the person and get over the hate 'phase' because if you don't then you just pretend to be nice and pretending doesn't lead often to any good. There is no need to lie yourself just because of the principle. Some people may need longer time to get over hate and forgive people and some people can forgive very quickly.

Hate could motivate people, but it's a bit too negative for me... I prefer smiles! YAY ! Give a hateful person something positive to smile at, and maybe a bit of that hate could die off and be replaced with JOY! :) I sure hope so!

"Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate... leads to suffering"

- Yoda

Hate is such a wierd consept. It is a truly damaging thing that little to no good come out of, but still it has dominated human history above all other feelings.

Do we need hate? It's natural for a human to dislike things, there will always be things that go outside our values or tastes, but do we need to hate the things we don't like? While liking and disliking are opposites, love and hate poses as slightly more... extreme versions of it. There are some things that we dislike to the extent that we would call it hate.

But should we hate or should we dislike? Hate often leeds to dark thoughts, depression, anger and destruction, and rarely leeds to anything good. Some would view hate as justification. If someone burned down your house, should you hate that induvidual?

What about people that would completely disregard the human rights in order to reach their goals? Should we hate murderers and racists? Or should we hate the twistet goals they're reaching for?

There is no definitive answer for these questions, as the choice to hate something is dependent on you. You choose if you should hate or love something, work against it or tolerate it. But remember that hate rarely leeds to something good, and that you might find yourself dangerously close to the ones you are hating if you go too far down the path.

"Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate... leads to suffering" - Yoda

I have lot of fears. Am I angry? Do I hate stuff? I don't know, but I'm afraid of almost everything.  For example: dogs, dark forests, failure, things that people will think about me, strangers, events that I can't predict and so on. And I'm rarely angry very rarely , but when I am I usually don't want to hurt anyone and I just go somewhere and cry.

If someone burned my house I would call police and leave the situation to them to handle. I probably would hate that person maybe some time, but I'm pretty sure that eventually I would forgive that guy. It's hard to look past something like that it can go on and haunt you the rest of your life if you can't handle it correctly.

Like Jesus said in the Bible when he was dying: "Forgive these people they don't know what they are doing". I'm not saying that we should be like that, but I think that the principal there is correct. We can't be like Jesus and do things like that because the mind of ours is filled with pain when we see those murderers and sometimes the pain can make us blind and do things that we normally wouldn't. I believe that every human can be good if they want to do so. No human is born evil or bad.

Very true. I have always seen hate as something that is natural for a human to witness. After all, there will almost always be people who does things we don't like, or does thing against us that makes us hate them. Even when the hate may seem ridiculus or pointless, is something that is almost unavoidable.

The big difference is what we do to react to those feelings. Instead of lashing out, being mean or hold grudges we should try to forgive or tolerate. Hate is something we recieve, it's our job to react or act to it. I'm not saying we should ignore murderes and such, but that should be a question of justice and safety for the murderers vitims, not pure hate.

Summarized, everything we have, our feelings, beliefs and interests, are tools. It's our job to properly wield them. But should we use a hammer to construct or wreck? That will be up to you, but you should be wary how others may see you.
