Sunset Shimmer has a message she wants me to convey for you guys:

After remembering how awesome Rainbow Rocks was, I could say that Sunset Shimmer was the Mane protagonist in the movie, not Twilight Sparkle surprisingly.

 

But this doesn't change the fact that both are great together.

YAY I'm happy she has a fan club.  I like the mane 6 fine, but Sunset is my all time fav!  The whole time I was watching Rainbow Rocks I was like, "Let her into the band!!  She's the key!!  OMG!" as if yelling stuff at the screen was going to help.  I have a weakness for the chars people don't appreciate until they jump in and save everyone.

 

I loved her character design from the start of the first movie, but then I was unhappy that she was the bad guy.  Yay for redemption!  More reasons to like the second movie better than the first.  ^^

I agree. It's almost like the great gatsby, it's sort of unclear who is the protagonist in this story. Twilight or Sunset? Though I think Sunset because it starts with her, and shows her as she is and how she changed and how she's dealing with her past that no one's letting her live down, and even in the beginning of the movie when twilight finally arrives, twilight is reluctant to take Sunset's hand but at the end she is eager to take her hand, and then her color is added to the rainbow. She also helps solve the problem for the main characters.
