I only started watching anime lately but I've found a brand new anime that's still recurring. It's called Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Also, known as Your Lie in April). Until now it has been very lighthearted so... Go ahead and check out the 2 or 3 episodes out yet

So... I finished an anime and I'm having a hard time trying to find a new one. At the moment I prefer Lighthearted ones, Like a Slice of Life sorta thing. Any one know any good ones? (Please name multiple, I may have already seen it like I've seen Ouran)

I'm currently watching an english dubbed older Anime Series called To Heart.

It is a slice of life sorta thing, and is lighthearted, for the most part.

It has 13 main episodes, and 6 Mini Episodes. I'm about to watch (main) Episode 9.

I haven't seen any of the mini episodes yet.

 

Anywho, the show has no magic in it, and it's not scifi either. It came out back in 1999.

 

If you try and watch it online, through a streaming service, or something (cough, cough) make sure to watch one that isn't in widescreen (16:9), because the show is actually 4:3. The widescreen ones make them all look weird. O_o

 

Oh, and the first part of the first episode, where a little girl is crying in the rain, is just a flashback to one of her childhood memories. The main cast of the show are in their teens.

I think the OP of the thread is looking for more SoL anime, so 98% of the anime you named won't work at all, lol. Highschool of the Dead and Highschool DxD alone are both bloody and filled with enough ecchi to be borderline hentai! XD

Quick update on To Heart. Just finished watching it. Wound up being more of a *drama, and might not be light hearted enough to fit the op's criteria. Sorry about that. I'll make sure to watch a series all the way through, before recommending it here. XD

 

*Sorta similiar to the Diamond Daydreams anime series, but not as tear-jerking as Clannad.

• Squid girl is adorably lighthearted. That is all.
• The Devil is a Part-Timer is mostly a lighthearted comedy. However, the first episode may seem a bit dark.

Depends on how laid back you want it to be. I like Girls und Panzer, Maid Sama, Girls Monthly Nozaki-Kun and Cells At Work. And there are some great feature films as well with a very relaxed feel to them, namely: From Up On Poppy Hill, Whisper of the Heart, Arrietty, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and My Neighbor Totoro, to name a few.

Some argue that anime is an aesthetic, some say it's any animation from Japan. Either way it can be any genre or mood.

 

 

 

Azumanga Daioh reminds me a lot of the slice of life episodes of MLP and there are six quirky girl characters. You can even play matching them up.

Princess Jellyfish is pretty good!!!  It's basically this one girl with depression and anxiety obsessing over jellyfish.  It's a lot more than that but I don't want to spoil it, it's really good!!!  I haven't read the manga yet but I really enjoyed the anime!!

There are many great animes. I'm not so sure how to interpret 'lighthearted' in this context, but I would recommend  'Kiki's Delivery Service' here.  At least this is a cute and innocent one for the whole family to enjoy.
