gaming Games you consider "classics" in their series

Also the plot of MGS2 is generally not well considered by fans of the series, a bunch of philosophical crap that breaks the fourth wall.

Isn't that the reason why fans love the MGS series so much?

It's been present since the first game. I know that's the reason I love the series and I know I'm not alone on it

No only MGS2 and 4 pulled that to a much lesser extent.

The only MGS I liked was MGS1, Peacewalker was alright but it felt like a mobile game. MGS3 was just bombastic with beeman.

I guess there is only ONE game to rule them ALL!

ONE GAME that has left its mark on history!

ONE game that has revolutionized gaming!

Sonic The Hedgehog (Genesis) up to and including Sonic & Knuckles (Genesis). I would like to mention Sonic CD, but there are aspects of that game that don't hold up, while other things are extremely much better.

They are classics because they follow a specific rule book, though being developed over a 4 year period. Instead of changing the core formula, additions were added without lowering the quality.

Pokemon: Crystal

Castlevania: Castlevania IV

Elder Scrolls: Morrowind

Zelda: Majoras Mask

Mortal Kombat: Mortal Kombat Trilogy

Sonic: Sonic Adventure

Mario: Super Mario Bros. 2

Lots of others but these three spring to mind as the classic standouts in their series!

Kirby's Adventure.

It wasn't the first game in the Kirby series, but it was the first console game in the series. It also introduced Copy Abilities and actually had a story that, while still simplistic, was more engaging to me than "This guys stole some food."

FNAF 2 is probably the most classic FNAF game for how popular it became. I think it got more popular than the original game. To me personally I will always consider FNAF 4 a classic despite how crazy it made the fans.

I guess for each I'll just put down what the most befitting of being called "classic" would be instead of just every one because that will take forever. Of course in my own opinion.

Mainline Mario: Super Mario 64 even if I'll always prefer the DS remake.

Mainline Pokemon: Diamond/Pearl/Platinum

Smash Bros: Melee

Borderlands: 2

Banjo-Kazooie: ''

Team Fortress: 2

Halo: 3

Fable: 2

Kirby: Super Star even if I prefer the DS remake (which I used to speedrun).

Final Fantasy: IV

Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

Call of Duty: MW2

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky

Etrian Odyssey: III

Disgaea: 2

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

Donkey Kong Country: DK64 (Yes, it is technically part of the DKC series)

Gex: 2

Fallout: New Vegas (though haven't played 1 and 2 to be fair)
