Sillyness aside..

What I really like about this show how is its character progression.

Unlike most anime where the character say what they've learned or get flashbacks on what happend, etc etc..

K-ON is far more subtle in these things.. But if you pay attention you can see how great it actually is.

If you want a more detailed explanation about this.. Look at Digibro's video:

Agreed. There's definitely more than meets the eye when it comes to this show. In other words, it's not just moe stuff.

Just started the first episode of season 2 today, so... permission to ramble? :3

-New OP and ED! :D Kinda surprised when I heard Go!Go! Maniac for the first time (huge change from 'Cagayake! Girls'  ) but replaying it as I'm typing this, I think this is gonna grow on me...  'Listen!' sounds great too, though I think 'Don't Say Lazy' is gonna stay my favourite. ;)

-I loved the look of the first season, but from the first episode of this I can see the artwork's been ramped up a lot. :)

-Barely just starting the second season, and the Light Music Club are already thinking ahead about graduating? Why do I have the feeling time is gonna fly while I'm watching this season?  :( It sorta reminds me of the very first episode, actually; not just because of the club's focus on getting new members (and the return of the animal costumes :P) but also because it's about the latest member of the band and their uncertainty about what the future will bring.

I love how it was resolved in this episode, and in my opinion, it shows off that character development that some people don't really notice in this show. When Azusa first joined the Light Music Club, she'd have been perfectly fine with more members joining the band if that meant they could meet the standards that some of the other bands she admired were setting. But since then, she's gotten the hang of her group and its dynamics- she's still alongside Mio as the voice of reason when the others aren't getting enough practise in, but now she can see the value in the quality time the members have together, whether it's doing a performance or just goofing around. Even with her concerns about what will happen to the Light Music Club when the others leave, she's still willing to preserve this moment as it is... just a group of friends, enjoying cake and each other's company :)

Can't wait to get further into this! ;)

If only Rainbow Rocks were more like K-On...

I don't think I've seen season two, but I know I've seen season one, and I loved it! I find that Slice of Life animes have a certain charm to them, and this series is no exception!

Gotta go look for season two now!

Alright. 'Bout time I posted here since I finished the first season of K-On! last month.

It was very... well, it was very much themed especially for its genre. It's a slice of life, adding humor to a girl's club about music as different yet realistically as they could and almost nothing more. It's perfect that way though. You really get to appreciate the characters' association with the band and how it came to be and how they all grow as individuals. It really shows and represents the bright side and outcome of life when you involve and dedicate yourself to new things you were initially afraid about. In this sense, it made me kinda sad at the end to have the girls achieve greatness with the club they formed as opposed to my own recent failures to take action in joining new things.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, luv :3 As for me, I'd say I'm like a mix of Yui and Ritsu when I'm with my friends, where as I'm more like Mio with strangers because I can still be kinda shy sometimes xD

Watched this a little under a month ago and absolutely loved it ^_^. Took me a little while to start enjoying it for what it was and to stop going "Why do they never play musicccc  ", but once Season 2 rolled around I was completely on board. Very chill show that helped me relax and unwind when I really needed to stop being so stressed.

My favoritest character is Ritsu, though Mio and Azunyan were competing with her for the position back when I was still in NO FUN ALLOWED mode :derp:. Ritsu's just about the most precious hyperactive, blackmailing adorable little monster to ever be animated ^_^. With that said, I really enjoy all of the characters and probably relate most to Yui. More than I would like to, honestly . She's my spirit animal.

K-On is awesome! I wouldn't call it one of my favorites but it's really good and I had a blast watching it. I kind of wished there would be a little more to it and I found it a bit odd how Yui learned so fast even though she barely even practiced.

But the show did what it's supposed to do I guess, kill us with moe cuteness. Kyoto Animations are specialists at doing just that.. If you liked K-On, try out the anime Chuunibyou Demo Koi Ga Shitai! by the same studio. The story is entirely different but the humor and characters are very similar.
