No, she's unfortunately NOT sitting on a park bench.  I spent a lot of time drawing out the castle, and it's somewhat disappointing that I ultimately decided to fade it out into the background.  I like how you don't really notice it right away.

Now I have to go rest my hand, because I think I crippled it with all the mouse clicking it took to finish this darn thing.

You draw a great Lyra, she's better off without the bench! Nice job on the background too, the misty flower look gives it that very Japanese Kimono scene feel to me.

 

And yes, I actually had to read your post before I noticed the castle in the back. :derp:

Yes!  That's the feel I was leaning towards.  I was looking through a bunch of Japanese-style cherry tree scenes before I started this.
