Damn, this is even a hard topic for me to answer, for video games I really like Skyrim. Also I really have enjoyed Final Fantasy, and all the games from that franchise. There is also Elder Scrolls, which I also love to death, on tabletop I like AD&D 2nd ed. or 3.5. So please chime in, and let me know your favorite. Like I said any format tabletop video gaming, whatever thanks.

2 Arcs, 7 discs, your character can be carried through all 7, even between the two stories.

That was a brilliant move. They could have EASILY said "Nah, these first four? No data tie-ins to these next three." Instead, they charged in. WUNDERBAR.

And yes, they do stand up against time. A graphics overhaul would be nice, do some HD remakes, but still, playing the old games in the last few months, the joy I felt playing them was just like the first time, all over again.

Well, my favorite from the WRPG side are Skyrim, The Witcher II, and Dragon Age: Origins.

 

Phantasy Star IV for the Sega Genesis remains my favorite JRPG, but Final Fantasu XII, Persona 3 & 4, and the .hack// games remain standouts for me.

I like The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind the best out of any RPG out there that I've played thus far, but much love to Dragon Age: Origins and pretty much the plethora of RPGs I have on my Steam I've been meaning to get more into the Baldur's Gate series though, as I've enjoyed what I've played of it immensely but at this time I keep getting more and more games to play and general life getting in the way.

If MAss Effect counts, then I will say that it is easily my favourite RPG series, especially mass Effect 2. Everything is just... perfect. The story, the gameplay, the setting, the characters, everything is tailored to be amazing.
