4th gen has the best Pokemon designs, but gen 5 always holds a special place in my heart cause N <3

The current gens have nice graphics/design choice as well.

I love them all, except the first gen which sucked.

Gen 1 will always be my favourite - there's just so much nostalgia and good memories, plus a lot of my favourite Pokemon are from Kanto anyway :kindness: I do love them all though!

My favourite is the fifth gen, both Pokémon and game wise. However, I also have a soft spot for the fourth gen.

Second generation was always my favorite. I felt it improved upon everything from the originals, plus added some neat little features like weekly events... And most importantly, finally the ability to be able to select a girl trainer.

But really, I'm a huge fan of all generations. Although the third was always my least favorite. They really bounced back with the fourth and fifth.

Gens IV and V were my favorites. I just liked the content in those the most and I really liked the Sinnoh and Unova regions. Platinum, Black/White 2 had a lot of content and HeartGold and SoulSilver were overall improvements over Gen II and had the Pokéwalker which is not that great but a cool addition nonetheless.

*Gets in the tiny gen 5 row boat with a few people.*

*Watches as the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen cruise ships and 4th and 6th gen yachts  cruise by.*

"I hope Black2 and White 2 get the remake and not the first 2 games..."
*Gets thrown overboard.*

My favorite is G3, I liked Hoenn and the new Pokémons. (G5 would be second)

I really like G1 too but I think it's because of nostalgia...

The first gen was the gen I cared most about.  'Twas a simpler time, and I'd yet to build up any defenses against "Pokemon fever."  Also, Meowth is best Pokemon.  Thatsright.

You could probably tell that I think that Gen 2 is the best.  Why I think it's the best?  In my opinion it had the best design for Pokemon, when it was still based on things from real life and those from folktales.  Although the original cartridges did erase itself after awhile due to a clock issue, the remakes solved that.

I'd go with the second gen, myself.  I'm only familiar with the first two, since I lost interest in Pokemon when Yugioh came out, but I'd say that Silver was my favorite of the ones I had.  I started replaying Red/Blue last year, and I'm surprised that it's still as addictive now at 23 as it was back when I was 6. No wonder I spent about a third of my childhood playing Pokemon games.

This is very difficult, and I can't really give you one straight forward answer.

In terms of mechanics, Gen 5 wins. Gen 6 broke the game a little bit with the mega evolution. Gen 5 had hidden abilities, physical/special split, and all kinds of good play mechanics.

In terms of new features and improvement from last, Gen 2 wins. I have yet to see a Pokemon generation add so much new stuff to the game, and even though this was the last Pokemon game to run on the old engine, a lot of it's play design and all of it's mechanics have returned for later gens.

In terms of my personal favorite, I'd sat Gen 3. Not so much for R S E, but for FR LG. I think are some of the series best games. They beautifully remastered 2 old games, and made them playable for new players, with all the magic from the first ones back.

Would it be fair to called Black 2 and White 2 Gen 5-1/2? Because while I don't really care for the first two iterations of the Black and White series, I absolutely love the second games to death. It has Pokemon from every prior generations, tons of legendaries, amazing locations, the ability to fight ever previous champion/gym leader/ elite four, and did I mention the customized gym themes? Also Did I mention the Marine Tube?

Not going to lie though this game is what saved pokemon for me. I just felt that the games were loosing that sense of oomph for me. ARound Gen 3 I fell away from the franchise till one day this trailer shows up on my youtube:

When I was a kid, I loved Gen 1. I remember playing with my purple Gameboy Color. Out of all the games I had, I liked Pokemon Blue and Crystal the best. The memories. (:
