They can be baked fresh, and you can change the flavor from being sweet and gooey to something in between to adding rich almonds. Like almost every other Hostess product, Twinkies taste like shit. Biting it and getting that overly sweet taste is bad enough, but then you're digesting high-fructose corn syrup AND hydrogenated oil. Top that with that disgusting waxy texture that rolls in your mouth. If i said to you i've never tasted both? i know, my life is boring... Avoid the Twinkies. There are several recipes to making great brownies. Depending on the recipe, some brownies recommend you bake them "low and slow" so both the outside and inside bake evenly. I mean, why eat a Twinkie when you could just eat some foam insulation filled with cloyingly sweet shaving cream?
