Season 5 has CLEARLY been poorly planned out

The reason why that Season 5 was planned poorly was because of Discovery. Announcing a hiatus at the last minute is like doing a school assignment the day before it's due. We would have known about it earlier if Hasbro decided to move MLP and their other shows to Cartoon Network or Disney XD.

Yeah, Cartoon Network would work better for MLP:FiM same as the new Transformers show did.

Arguably Robots in Disguise is doing better on Cartoon Network than Prime on the Hub. I've been keeping with the Transformers fandom and they keep saying the same thing. Robots in Disguise gets more viewers on its 5:00/6:00 AM timeslot than any Transformers Prime episode would get on the Hub.

 

With that said I don't trust Cartoon Network considering how cancel-happy it can get! I'm actually pretty glad that Robots in Disguise is getting a second season but still, I don't really trust CN with it at all considering their history with Action Shows in general (Transformers Animated in particular).

Breaking Bad and Mad Men did this for their final seasons, but the hiatus was for almost an entire year. So it's not like this is anything new. I do think that Discovery Family is worse than the Hub Network, even though I rarely had the Hub Network on my cable package, and I've only seen Discovery Family on live streams since I don't get that channel either. From their bad advertising to the bad scheduling. The season 5 split was something I didn't know about until reading this. On the one hoof, it's kinda jarring that they're just splitting the seasons. On the other hoof, it isn't enough for me to give up on the show. I'm still optimistic that the show and fandom won't die yet. If it did, I wouldn't know what to do since I didn't start watching until midway through season 4(around when Filli Vanilli aired), and I already get feelings at times that I joined when it was too late.

I know that! The argument was that moving MLP to Cartoon Network would work out as well Transformers' move to Cartoon Network as if it was a negative thing (I think anyway). I was just stating that the move to Cartoon Network arguably worked better for Transformers viewer-wise but with that said I still don't trust Cartoon Network in the long run with Robots in Disguise due to their cancel happy history.

 

As for MLP I can make the argument that it MIGHT work out for the show ratings-wise but as it's not a Cartoon Network-owned property, I have my doubts that they'll keep it around and are more likely to cancel it than Discovery is.

Eh, MLP doesn't really seem like it'd fit on the CN roster. I say this mainly because of the demographic.

Cartoon Network is mainly for kids 8-13 while My Little Pony, despite the older viewers, is mainly targeted towards 5 year olds. The thing about Tramsformers is that it's products can be geared towards any age. How? It's about a war between giant robots that transform into cars and jets to blow each other up, you can make that rated PG or R. My Little Pony is about friendship, magic, rainbows, and all sorts of soft, childish things. The most you can do is G or PG. Anyways, my point is that MLP = toddler, and CN = pre-teen.

 

 

As for the scheduling, I can't say much. I don't care if I have to wait a few months for a new season, I've waited 3 years for a movie.

I'm gonna give them the benefit of a doubt and assume that something bad happened at the last minute that slowed down production and they were like, "Crap, sorry guys, you're gonna have to wait a bit longer..." We all know what that's like, right?

Well, it could be worse: we could be waiting another 11 months for episode 14. Looking at the leaked episode list, it should begin in the fall, mid-October at the earliest. And with a fall premiere, maybe Discovery will get their asses in check and have S6 start in the fall as well.

I doubt there's a good reason... Discovery Family didn't even know that the Season premier passed after several episodes. I think they shouldn't even air My Little Pony. They lack organization! At least I have organized chaos! I know where things are and what needs to be done, Discovery Family doesn't. It's not like you're a fan with the only pony who did nothing this season.... Of course it wouldn't bother you. Fluttershy played a major role in the premier, Applejack played a major role in Appleloosa's Most Wanted. The other Mane Six had episodes they stared in, except Rarity. Just like Season 3...

Well, that's a kind of a bummer.

 

Now time to do everything else I do that is not watching the show and is still pony-related... which is about 98% of what I do. 

 

Doesn't really affect me that much. I prefer just kind of partaking in the fandom rather than watching the show and I can entertain myself by drawing pony-related stuff if I have the urge to. Although I admit that if they keep this up, things might not look good for this fandom, and that's not something I'd approve of. Where else would I go to talk to people on the pretense of ponies ? (when I'm actually trying to make friends, but hey, I'm... following the show's values!) Things like this make me wonder about whether or not this pony thing can sustain itself much longer. But I can't be all doom and gloom, because I have no idea what'll happen. The future is always unexpected.

You're overreacting. True, my favorite pony, Apple Bloom, had an episode this season, but I wouldn't rage like a fanboy if she didn't. Also, don't act so high-and-mighty. I doubt you know exactly what happened. You have no right to make such accusations against Discovery Family. I'm not being hateful. This happening at the last minute, sure it's kind of annoying but it is definitely not going to destroy the fandom. I mean this isn't even NEAR the scale of the outrage of Alicorn Twilight, which was promised to "destroy the fandom!" and it didn't even come close to achieving that prophecy.

I'm really angry. Sorry. I don't deserve to have any happiness anyways. Every single show I like is not making any more new episodes for a long time now. I'm just stupid. I wish I was neurotypical like all of you, but even though you probably think I function just fine with this kind of stuff don't exist like almost every other neurotypical person in the world, I can't.

I have, it's called the rest of Season 3 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which also has a horrendous schedule! And do you know what I do? I still wait patiently because I know I'm going to get it. Like right now, I just found out I'm in for a new episode on Sunday after waiting two months since the last episode. If I can deal with a show with a sloppy airing schedule, so can you. Occupy your time with something else. Look at the fan content, find a game to play in the meantime, find a new show that'll catch your eye or revisit an old favorite. That's what I'm doing.

Again, relax! You're over-reacting! I know the hiatus sucks but still it's just a show. No reason to get this upset over a hiatus. I know Discovery Family is doing a sloppy job with the scheduling, I'm a bit ticked-off at them too. But still it's just a show. I can deal with a hiatus, you can too. And besides, it's not as if there are any better alternatives. Cartoon Network handles the shows they get poorly and Nickelodeon heavily relies on two shows whilst ignoring the other ones.

 

Discovery Family isn't at fault for the events going on within the show, that's all DHX. Don't get so angry over this. Remember we've still got half a season to go, so there's a chance we'll get a Rarity episode and even if we don't at least the season (so far) has been great. Again, relax. You might not choose to be impatient but please don't be self-deprecating. I know people with self image problems can't just magically be confident and comfortable with themselves, but when you start beating yourself up people will tend to be less sympathetic towards you.
