It takes a real special game to make me want to Platinum or get 100%. I'm a bit of a lawnmower type since I have don't have the time I can dedicate to 100% a bunch of game. That said, I swear I will eventually with Ni No Kuni.

Reads above me. @Starshine ... you got 100% on Persona 4. That game is like the never ending story (amazing though) and you got 100%?

Impressive

H'OH BOY. The worst is when you complete the story, and you are like, barely clearing 50% and you scream at the game "WHAT ELSE AM I SUPPOSED TO DO, BEAT IT 3 MORE TIMES?" Some games have so many secrets I just say "Screw this" after a while and move on.

You mean the Batman Arkham series right?  You could've just said that.

It depends on the game. I often try to find as many items I can collect and I often try to collect as many Trophies as possible (I consider myself a Trophy Hunter).

I can gladly go for 100% in games like Metroid, but 100% in Pokémon? Hell no!

I played through everything about 5 times, and I got all kind of personas at least once each. I remembered spamming the samurai looking guy's 8 low-strength slashes all the time xD

Tho it was not until the 3rd gameplay that I could get max social links

If it's games like angry birds, I will play all the levels, just to get past, and after that, I go back and try to get the 3 stars on all levels I didn't do so on. Games like Skyrim, idk yet, cuz I never finished the game yet. I'm only level 25. But when it comes to like achievmetns, yes, I go for every single acheivement. And also I got that darn skyrim hoarder disorder where I have to search EVERY dead body, chest, and urn. XD

I feel bad for lydia, she must not like me deep inside.

No, I don't always go for 100 percent, but i want to. Like in Skyrim and Miecraft, i want 100 percent. All I gotta do in Minecraft (PS3 edition) is go into the End Portal, than I have to beat the Ender Dragon to get 100 percent. In Skyrim there is so much shit I gotta do that I don't focus on the trophies and just focus on the missions. Except the trophies are kinda forcing me to do things that always seemed like something I would rather not do. Like I gotta pick 50 more pockets in order to get a trophy. I am a warrior in that game. I mean the only magic I use is a basic healing magic. I have used no magic whasoever, and none of it except Restoration is upgraded. But I am close to get one-handed to 100 as a skill, I just got 3 more levels for it to go. Than I get that trophy for getting a 100 as a skill.

I have to love the game to beat it, when I was younger I'd just plow through it. Now I think that I could be doing something else or playing another game and actually enjoying it.

I tried to 100% the VR missions in MGS2 Subsistence on the pc version, never managed it , I have the HD collection now and I want to 100% all the Extra ops on PeaceWalker. I've had the game for months and I still haven't though.

Rarely, but it happens, if it's a game that I really love. It's a nice excuse to keep playing it after you've beat it. Only games I've 100%'ed are Binding of Isaac, Dark Souls 1 & 2, Ni No Kuni, Risk of Rain and Batman: Arkham Asylum (not counting older games without achievements)

I just got 100% on the new Wolfenstein New Order. I think this is only the 2nd game I have gotten all the trophies / achievements. I use walk throughs and guides because I want to get everything in the game. I would rather see spoilers and find all the hidden stuff than the alternative. It doesn't spoil it that much anyway. But the achievements / trophies are a different thing, and most of the time it is way to difficult and time consuming to try to get all of those. I go for the ones I can get. I would rather play a bunch of games and not get 100% than spend many hours on a game just to get some stupid thing to get a trophy.

Nope. Most of that just isn't that entertaining since it usually consists of just doing a collect-a-thon, picking up random junk because, hey it's a new shiny.

My 100% is finishing the story and doing all the extra bosses/ dungeons/ side quests. Even then, I may not really care for all the small side bits. In RPG's I'll generally do all the side quests and extra bosses eventually (takes a looooong time before I get around to it normally); for fighting games, I'll do the stories of the characters I'm most interested in and the true story, but probably not all the others. Absolutely no extra scavenger hunts! A major exception is games like Skyrim, where pretty much the whole game is sidequests, nothing in there really holds onto me for long so I end up dropping that pretty early...

Yep, everything.

Note that if you're playing the Mass Effect trilogy and you aren't a completionist, you'll have a worse ending in ME3 (even though they pretty much all suck).

In Skyrim I do everything. Except as soon as the main Dawnguard questline is complete I turn myself into a human again because I'm tired of fast-traveling from Volkihar Castle to Riften and going from undetectable vampire to SUPER-EVIL-KILL-IT-EVEN-THOUGH-IT'S-NOT-HOSTILE vampire... lol

the first game I tried to perfect was Red Dead Redemption. The vast amount of shit to do ruined any chances of me ever 1000'ing any game in  the future.

Literally EVERY single person I've heard of who has a PS3 gets EVERY Trophy in EVERY PS3 game they play...Platinum included...And what really frustrates me is that I seem to literally be the ONLY PS3 gamer who is too incompetent and bad at games to get even one single Platinum Trophy...

Aside from that I usually go for 100%s when I can but more than 90% of the time I can't do it...

I always have in the past. I've even completed one game up to 120% (Spyro the Dragon; there is a bonus level that is unlocked when you reach 100% of completion). I can only think of 2 games I never completely beat, or even reached the final level (A Bugs Life and Star Wars Rebel Asssault).

how I do things is I play through the game then go back if I missed something then i try to unlock every Achievement the game has to offer if it Doesn't have Achievements then still I try to complete a game

I have 100% Minecraft and Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 4 (2010)

I have 94% Call of Duty Black ops

and I have 84% Need for Speed Rivals

I also 100% a few Legend's of Zelda games

There are a few games I'll attempt 100%, but if I already know I don't want to put the time in to do them, or if I think they're too hard, I'll just get all I can, then go on. ^^
