Yes, they would be really cool for one adventure episode, there's no reason to stop watching the show if they come back, because if they do, they will come FiM style. You people are all weird. NO! I actually watched the whole Rescue from Midnight Castle special, and those freaks were easily the worst part. If you're going to take something out of that special to use in G4, make it Tirek. He was badass.

Sea ponies are kind of part of that inappropriate mishmash of pony species that the previous generations created. Things like breezies, flutterponies, etc., that would NOT fit into FiM at all. FiM overall has a more coherent organization of species, and doesn't just go around making... abominations (sorry, that's kind of what I think of sea ponies) just for the hell of it or entertaining little girls. There's four species of ponies that have been established, and they are all land-based creatures based on mythology that make sense. (Unicorns, pegasi, and alicorns, for instance. Common instances of horse mythology. Whilst earth ponies are just based on regular ponies from our planet.) Sea ponies? Not really.

 

I don't think sea ponies will ever make an appearance. And I really hope they don't.

If they did it as a passing reference, like having ONE isolated seapony when someone ended up underwater (Several times have characters done this), then I'm fine.

 

If it's more than once, those things can go buck themselves.
