spoiler Speculation regarding the CMC in the Season 5 finale

Now that the ankle biters have their butt marks, and specifically commented on how they realize helpng other ponies interpret their cutie marks, and understand who they really are, is their new goal in life, it aligns perfectly w ith Starlight Glimmer's plot, and time travel to make it so the Sonic Rainboom never happened, for the 6 to get their cm marks simultaneously, like the CMC just did. (And poor Spike will never exist. Gime a break, writers!!! ) so likely, with the 6 never getting their marks, thanks to Starlight, it'll be up to the CMC to take her down, and the 3's bond will resonate with the 6, magicy junk will hapen, and history will either rewrite itself, or the 6 re-earn their marks, thanks to the CMC, and deliver the final blow to SG.

I have gone ahead and edited your topic by putting a "spoiler" prefix. Some users haven't seen the new CMC episode yet  . The episode was released just today, so a spoiler is appropriate, even though it discusses a future episode. The mention of what has happened in the recently released episode warrants a spoiler  . all the better if SG is is defeated by foal blank flanks, and when time is set straight again, their cutie marks will reappear, which would in turn cause t thee mane 6's to appear, after realizing, or something

because they foiled her plans, in the season 5 premeire, and the season 5 animatic hints at her going bck in time to prevent the rainboom that joined the 6 together

The leaked episode synopses seems to suggest it is going to focus more on Princess Twilight and her friends though, but the CMC may play a role in it.

Unless the now-undefeated Nightmare Moon finds his still-unhatched egg, hatches it herself, and casts an age spell to raise him to be an evil minion?

Actually, I'm perplexed how they are going to handle the proliferation of supervillains that are going to be running around Equestria in this supposed time loop that gets created...    

 

As for the CMC, I think it is possible they will use their new found... powers(?) to defeat Starlight Glimmer. But I think that would happen only at the end, similar to how Cadence and Shiny saved the day from Chrysalis when the mane 6 failed to get to the Elements.

animatic? havn't seen that nor do i realy wnat obe spoilered all that much.  I mean if they dont' get thier marks then potinal never get the elements nad thus nightmare moon and no way to stop her. Discord could get free not to mention his plumber seeds..it just seemsl ek a big plot hole.

 

beside I can just see Twilight using her freindship speach powers to convert STarlight to good in like the last 10 minutes like EVERY finale.. .no real explaion it will just be her and twlight blabbling and poof goody goody relealizing the error of her ways.

I don't think they'll do anything with them anymore. Their original plan was to give them their cutie marks in the final season, which season 5 is not. I bet they just gave them their cutie marks to shut the fandom up. (the constant demand for CMC cutie marks was the only thing about this fandom that annoyed me.)

Many original plans were discarded as the show progressed, like the series would've ended with Twilicorn..... which in turn was just Twi reaching the top of her studies and wouldn't have gained her Red Bull Wings  . It's more likely that your statement is incorrect, perhaps the CMCs would've gained their cutie marks if the show ended earlier, but FiM is green lit to 3.5 years at least, and sooner or later, they would have wrapped up the CMC arc.

 

Regarding the thread, I don't know how the time loop stuff would affect the CMC's cutie marks, but there are many possibilities now that the Mane6 would likely won't have theirs

Well, the writers said once it's possible to be an adult pony, and still be a blank flank, in fact, I think they also said we'll see one this season. The singer pony from the Mane Attraction is speculated to be such a pony
