Just as much as, maybe even more than Diamond Tiara, the character development of Silver Spoon is one of the most requested things of this show. Diamond Tiara was obviously the brains of the group, but as of "Flight to the Finish", one interpretation of Silver Spoon's character interactions in that episode is that she was possibly beginning to feel bored or tired of Diamond Tiara's shallow ritual.

 

When we get to "Crusaders of the Lost Mark", Silver Spoon becomes the first character to stand up to Diamond Tiara, who consequentially stands up to her mother and reforms despite being in denial of her self-identity conflict. However, while Diamond Tiara got a background and some future possibilities as a friend to the Crusaders, it's not known where Silver Spoon goes from here. Silver Spoon has no backstory, and we see little of her towards the end of the episode. One can infer that with her cutie mark being what it is (symbolically similar to Diamond Tiara's), Silver Spoon might have to go through a similar conflict.

 

What do you think is next for Silver Spoon? Her own episode? Possibly going through the same conflict as Diamond Tiara? Will the Crusaders help her next? What exactly do you see being her future path?

Silver Spoon I liked more than Tiara, but she already wasn't that bad of a girl. Maybe in a future episode she could provide a minor plot role for the CMC, but I don't see her getting a full episode.

Ergh a goon of a minor character getting development? Why not than Snips and Snails? They had screen time that extended to the Equestria Girls movie. Next we're going to have Tom the rock getting character development when we run out of ponies.

 

From how many background ponies we have, I don't think we'll ever run out.

 

I see nothing wrong with having curiosity about the MAJOR minors within the FiM franchise despite there being a heavy possibility that they have no.true background and might not get any development. More than likely, if the demands are high enough, the writers will pull something out of thin air just to satisfy the fans which is what I think they did with Diamond Tiara. Her situations was a heavy cliche that even while I was tipsy drinking with my friends, we were like "oh let me guess, her mother is a b**** which makes Diamindtiarra a b****.

 

 

It was only in this episode where you clearly see how Silverspoon is tired of Diamond....in all the others, she seemed perfectly fine. I mean there is a strong possibility she had these moments OFF screen, but that doesn't count.

 

Odds are, Silverspoon might not get the main spotlight though I see nothing wrong for wanting to see that. Neither do I see anything wrong with wanting spotlight for snips and snails. I just think they will only be used as a minor supporting cast to fill in cliches unless there is high demand for development.

The scene when Silver Spoon tells Diamond Tiara why she didn't vote for her is interesting. Silver's voice is deeper and lacks the valley girl accent. This could mean that she has been pretending to be some pony she isn't. She could be the smartest pony in the class, perhaps a filly prodigy. But was afraid her best friend and maybe her own family won't like her so she never acted smart when she was with them. Perhaps there could be a episode next season where the CMC help her be herself and not be afraid of what others think of her true destiny. Maybe she could be the first pony to get a different cutie mark that would represent her new talent.

Diamond Tiara was, by no means, a minor character. Especially not in "Crusaders of the Lost Mark". Silver Spoon was the first one who stood up to Diamond Tiara in that episode, but beyond that, she's barely in it. Diamond Tiara's changed. It's best we at least know where Silver Spoon ended up.

I guess her and DT will make up and they'll be friends again. Might be good for a future CMC episode (Which will happen, Hasbro, wont it? You've given us what we want, now expand it?)

 

And then we can work out what having a spoon for a cutie mark means. Maybe she'll work out that we're all in the matrix and that "There is no Cutie Mark." Or maybe she's really good at making... Spoons?

She may get some kind of role in season 6 but, seeing how she is no longer an antagonist I don't think she will be seen very much after this season.  

Or actually do much next season.  But I could be wrong.  Who knows?
