We are pleased to announce Dark Horse as the most recent addition to the Sectional Moderation team. A intuitive and genial gentleman who we have taken a fondness to recently. He will be perusing Beyond Equestria along with the other members of Simon's team. It has been a pleasure getting to know him and I am certain he will be a phenomenal asset to the team. Also, the guy earns points for creepiest staff avatar :wau:

You know, when I first signed up to this place, I honestly didn't think I'd stick around long. I've been to other forums in the past, try get involved for a while, but eventually tire of them due to one reason or another and have moved on by a few weeks or so. Not this one. Something about this place has kept me here far longer than any other forum previous, and I think I know what that might be:

 

It's the community.

 

Since being here not even a year ago, I've met some amazing people who frequent these forums and gotten to know their wonderful (and varied) personalities. :D What this forum has shown me is much more than just names on a screen giving opinions on something, it's a tightly knit community who are here not just for their love of the series that brought us together, but to cherish those friendships that have been created by all of us, and the time we spend together here, doing what we do best.

 

Admittedly I'm not as involved post-wise as some others, I'm a bit of a background pony. :P Which is why I was quite shocked when I received the invitation to join staff as a sectional. It was quite the Dark Horse moment for me!

Regardless, the primary reason I chose to apply for the position in the first place was because of what this place meant to me, as a fan of the series. MLP Forums reminds what I love about the fandom: the fans. Yes, I'm sure there are some who would argue that not everyone or everything on the forums is perfect, I understand that. But something I've learned to hold dear to in my life is positivity. I like to look at positives, I like to spread them, and I like to encourage others to do the same. For that reason, I hope that my time here on staff will help bring that little bit more positivity to the forum, no matter how small or insignificant it may be. I'm only happy to help make this place a better home for everyone who has found joy & experience in it like I have, and maybe help spread that joy to others who join us. :)

 

If anything, I hope to not let any of you down, I'm ever grateful for the opportunity! ^_^

I'm a bit of a background member, myself, as I'm not all that active outside of my section (though I should really work on that!) But perhaps it's better to be a background pony, so they don't see you comin'! as it shows that being a staff member is not a matter of being popular, rather it's a matter of being observant in your section and upholding the rules and values of the site to preserve what makes this place the most welcoming site for Bronies on the web!
