Will Flutterbat Ever Officially Comeback?

You all remember and adore Flutterbat. The sweet and vicious Batpony. And I've been hoping for her to come back!

 

Flutterbat did come back in Scare Master, but it wasn't really Flutterbat.

 

Will Fluttershy get turned into Flutterbat again. Or is that just a only-going-to-turn-into-a-bat-pony-once thing? Thoughts??

I assume no, with disappointment. While there was that tease at the end of the original episode, it seems to have gone nowhere officially. Teased a couple of times? Yes, which that is nice, but I honestly want to see Flutterbat officially at least one more time, maybe perhaps her losing control again or something? OR even better, her dealing with a sort of apple addiction because of it, but still being conscious. Internal struggle! Would be interesting to see.

I don't think they'd bring it back officially in the show, but I don't think there's anything stopping them from using Flutterbat. Heck one of the recent comic arcs brought back Flutterbat, if it's any consolation

The costume, dream sequence and comics were fine but I'd rather not have Flutterbat return proper in the show itself. It's a cool design but not much more.

I highly doubt it'll ever officially become a thing since as far as we're aware she can't turn into it at will, but they sure do love throwing it in when given the chance. "Bats!" ending with the final shot of her still having fangs, "Do Princesses Dream of Magical Sheep" took place in a dream and now she was wearing the Flutterbat costume in "Scare Master", which isn't even getting into the arc of the comics where she can apparently freely transform into it and did so for an issue or so before possibly learning how to control it.

Although I really like Flutterbat, I doubt she will make a return. I don't see much they could do with the "character" that was not tackled already in Bats...  unless they did some sort of actual vampire episode or some such for Halloween or the like. The vampire characters of the other characters in the comics were pretty awesome to, although their names induced deep hurting.

That storyline ought to be wrapped up by now, and we've only seen that form again in costumes and dreams, so I doubt Fluttershy will ever actually revert to Flutterbat, and I'm kinda glad for that, because it only really works for that story, and I consider every appearance since the first to be egregious can pandering. You could make it a superpower, but that sounds exceedingly boring to me, so I'd rather it wasn't.

Besides being a throw-away gag at the end of "Bats!" and subsequent cameos hints, Fluttershy herself don't even want to be in a state where she can't even control herself and being her bat infused alter-ego self doesn't fit well with her light-hearted, kind and caring character. She doesn't have a knack for things of the like and she rather not allow a place or moment in time where she needs to resort to that. The greatest fear is for her is being a monster again and that is why Flutterbat ceases to exist.

I don’t think Flutterbat will make a return, but it’s fun theorizing that it is still in Fluttershy, as she can still screech as consistently and have the aggression.

I would love to see Flutterbat make a return! That would make for an interesting episode.  Who knows, maybe we'll get one before season 9 is over.

While it isn't impossible, given the sheer amount of callbacks we've had throughout Season 9, I don't think it's likely either. Who knows? Only time has the answer.
