Dark Bun 681 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 Given the finale delt with time travel, I guess this would appropriate to ask. If the show or fandom didn't exist, do you think you'd still be the same person? As for me, I'd say the show has made me a bit more liberal in some sense. However, I've always been easy-going. 4 JustMonika
Daring_Do 552 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 (edited) Well, let's see, this here fandom was one of a bunch of things that added up together to end up making me less liberal than I used to be. So I'd probably still be a little more naive and a little more liberal if it wasn't for y'all. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing.. Woah, I actually typed this up before reading the OP. Heh, I can see the show doing that, sure. Actually, it probably helped improve me in one of the areas I'm still liberal. But the fandom... Dark Bun 681 December 1, 2015 Author Share December 1, 2015 Woah, I actually typed this up before reading the OP. Heh, I can see the show doing that, sure. Actually, it probably helped improve me in one of the areas I'm still liberal. But the fandom... Yeah, I don't interact with the people in the fandom too much. I'm pretty casual. 1 JustMonika
Daring_Do 552 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 Yeah, I don't interact with the people in the fandom too much. I'm pretty casual. Yeah, in my case the fandom was one of a few things that broke my "openmindedness" and made me trust people more when they say negative things about a group, instead of just assuming they're being ignorant. And probably some other related effects that I can't quite recall just now. (It's 11:52 PM)
Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,632 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 So this is weird, because of the finale, I was thinking of this exact topic a couple of nights ago when I was walking. I certainly would not be the same person I am now. This show has changed my life and honestly, it is very difficult for me to think of what my life would be without it. I was thinking of this all through that walk I had and it gave me a strange sensation in my mind. I don't think my life would have many positives right now if not for this show.

Jaxsie (Inactive) 1,343 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 Overall, I would be relatively the same. I have definitely learned some lessons from the show, but -- while valuable -- it hasn't changed my life dramatically. Codelyy 1,286 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 I'm not really sure. I truly imagine i would be different as this show lead to a lot of good things in my life mainly from this forums. If i never watched the show then I would of never joined this forums so i would of never made all the friends i have now or learnt from the now broken relationships I had. 1 Thank you Cherribomb for the Signature! https://twitter.com/Codelyy
Lord Bradley 1,319 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 Nope. I would be a lot more grumpy, and a lot less cheerful. There's alot that the show, aswell as the fandom and this wonderful forum, has done to change my life. I don't think i would really be "happy" without the show, nor the amazing people in this fandom. Sunwalker 981 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 It would be different in the sense that I wouldn't have met some of the people I met thanks to the show. Summer Breeze 2,528 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 I would never be as close as i'm to my super special somepony midnght frost as i am now if the show didn't exist. We would be friends but i don't know if he would be my boyfriend irl and if the show didn't exist, this forums wouldn't to and i would probably be a little bit depressed, because if i didn't know what to do someone here allways was there to help me out. And my english would be even worse as it is now And i would also probably be a hardcore otaku, because i would have much more time to spend watching anime thanks Pastel Pinkie for the amazing sign! and thanks icyfire888 for the super cute profile picture! Ponies4Bronies 394 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 No trust me, before the show I was some insecure over-masculine jock that liked to be a d**k to feel better. I didn't even want to babysit my cousin that day and watch the show premiere with her, but now I'm totally the opposite, I am completely secure in my adoration of cute ponies and I live by "love and tolerate". So the next time you don't want to do something, you should do it, you and your whole view on the world could change. Honey Wings, my love, my life, together forever. Dark Horse 12,962 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 Well I wouldn't be the exact same person now, would I? I wouldn't have met this wonderful community, met some great people I can call friends, have a few less collectibles in the room. I'd basically be down a fair few good experiences in my life. And as the season finale showed; who knows what such little changes could've had on my life? "Always watching - Always lurking." Guest December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 That is a difficult question actually.... Back in 2012 I used to be a lot more closed minded person than I am today. I'd say over these past few years I've def. changed as a person. I'm not so sure if the show had any affect towards that.

Sekr Gray 520 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 Without ponies, I wouldn't have met some 90% of my friends, gotten back into the art scene ( I had stopped drawing for fun before ponies came into my life), I wouldn't have gotten back into role playing, and possibly most importantly, meeting my sometimes gf [Melody]. It's made my life so much more positive, I can't really imagine life without this show, or this fandom. Love you all <3
chirox the pony 1,336 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 No I would have been fine. This show really didn't have that big an impact on me. I suppose it might have made me a little more open minded but that's it (and even then just a little). No matter how hard I try these ponies will simply never leave me. MasterSpark95 430 December 2, 2015 Share December 2, 2015 Mlp:FIM taught me real friendship. Without it, I don't know... I wouldn't have many friends, and I would be kind of shy, low self esteem... well, a lot of negative things. Oh, and I wouldn't be able to chat on this lovely forum, with such nice ponies like you. 1 | Poet, Writer, and artist | Cartoon, anime and Disney lover | Video game lover | "We know what we are, but know not what we may be." -William Shakespeare "I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination." - Jimmy Dean
n0body555 334 December 2, 2015 Share December 2, 2015 No. The show has made me meet some friends who have changed my life forever, even though. I'm no longer friends with a lot of them. They changed a lot about me today.
Mothra 666 December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 This show has changed me so much, in a lot of different ways. Im not as insecure as I was before, Im not as ignorant as I was, and Im definitely way happier than I've ever been. I can't give thanks enough for what the staff have done and everything else pony related, even this forum, have played a part in it.
gamecubeguy214 2,512 December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 I would probably be more likable because the majority of the people I know think MLP is for little girls, but I would probably have a way more violent mind than I do now (Season 5 finale spoilers ahead) I even still have a pretty violent mind, when I was watching the finale for season 5, I was just thinking ''Why don't you just have Rainbow Dash do a sonic rainboom, kill Starlight Glimmer, go to the present, then all will be solved'' and then Hasbro is capable of solving everything with little to no violence.
