gaming Video Game Awards 2015

And it is a wrap folks! The 2015 video game awards have officially ended and what a show it was. While it still had some hiccups here and there, this was easily the best Game Awards in years, and it could very well be my favorite that has ever been done. Though I would have liked more award categories discussed on the show, the awards were good themselves, the extra stuff was awesome and the game premieres were also good. Far Cry Primal  looks insane. :o The segment for Iwata was also....heartfelt and wonderful.

What do you all think? What are your thoughts on the awards this year? What did you think of the winners? The Game awards always fill me with joy watching them. :)

Also, here is this:

Viva is so talented that she won the award for best voice actress for a game that she wasn't even in. XD

*Staff morale decreased*

To be honest I was quite disappointed when it was announced that Konami does not allow Kojima to attend TGA; is there some kind of law/regulation/policy that promotes this kind of action?

Everything else seemed okay though.

I haven't played Witcher 3 yet, so I can't say if it deserved Game of the Year or not, but I wanted Fallout 4 to win. Funny, I didn't know Witcher 3 had won, but I was literally just looking at it on Steam and thinking about getting it. I might pick it up during the steam winter sale once I'm done with AC Syndicate.

Didn't really mind wanting either Witcher or Fallout to win. They're both great games but a win is a win for Witcher 3. A little disappointed Undertale was beaten by Rocket League, though...

And Kojima was banned from the Game Awards by Konami.

Only one or two good winners from a mixed bag of nominations. Also, Her Story? This "game" popped up out of nowhere. I didn't even know it existed-not even a word of it-until I saw it listed in the nominations. I check it out and it's some 'follow-the-clues' thing where you watch video clips of a woman being interviewed by police.

Riveting.

We could've expected that from a company who treat it's costumers like shit and forces veteran employees to do low paid jobs. Konami is far worser than Activision and EA combined.

Another typical Indie game with CD-i quality.

I hate the VGAs because...you know let me allow Angry Joe to speak for me

While the show this year was not perfect by any means, I do think it was a lot better than any of the shows in the past. From what I remember, there were no immature jokes or over-the-top gaming stuff within it, it felt far more like a celebration of gaming which is what it should be. I was pleasantly surprised by it this year.

The 'Most Trending Gamer' category was incredibly stupid though, but I am glad at least Greg Miller won it.

Yeah, last year's awards show was a massive improvement over everything else that came before it, and this year looks like it's continuing that trend. I haven't seen it yet, but it seems this year also had a really good one too.

Also, while I never really liked Geoff Keighley, he got some mad respect points from me for having the balls to call out Konami

Well I do see that they are improving, but I still refuse to watch it.  For one, its overly advertised, two form the sounds of it,  they are now making up awards and the three  those awards that people "vote" for for well just numbers and votes are meaningless, the awards are bought anyway

I have not taken the video game awards seriously in years. A lot of the time they just wave the flag of major developers and overlook their quality issues.

That random Shaq-Fu though. Never thought it would see the light of day.

Also, what the hay Konami?! That's a really low blow denying Kojima of his award.

I am not surprised actually when Witcher 3 won GOTY. FO4 was still new, MGS5 was a close contender but story-telling was great in Witcher 3, from what I heard.

What was truly unexpected was Rocket League and Splatoon though. That moment when a Wii U game defeated the other 2 console.

I'm a little upset Fallout lost to Witcher, but I heard Witcher's good so it's fine. And i'm really surprised Splatoon won best Shooter and Multiplayer game; that came out of the left field, but no complaints here, it's a great game. Though this is coming from a person that doesn't take the awards seriously, so take my opinions with a grain of salt.

It's a change of pace from the usual shooter (BF and COD) and a lot of people had fun with it.

I guess I find this year's Game Awards to be okay. It didn't really met my expectations though. I love what they have done for Mr.Iwata though! It was nice of them to remind us about him. I haven't played any of the Uncharted series, but Uncharted 4 looks like it's going to be a lot of fun! :D

Tbh, I kinda think IGN bought out the "Most Trending Gamer" award. Only 2/10 of my friends knew who Greg Miller was, but all knew who markiplier and pewdiepie was. But I'm cool with Greg Miller.

I had a small hope the MonteCristo would won, since he's an OGN English caster of League of Legends. OGN is in Korea

I just found out that Splatoon won best shooter, even over over juggernauts like of CoD, Battlefront, Halo and Destiny

Gonna chalk that up as the game's most impressive accomplishment

You guys do realize those awards mean nothing and hold no weight. If anything those awards' purpose (Best shooter, Best RPG, Game of The Year, etc.)  is to see who put more  money in  for the said award in order to glorify said game that won said award. I  also find it a bit confusing that "Game of The Year" is an "award" and is an edition to a game that contains every DLC made for said game. So for me 'Game of the Year" is only an edition to a game, nothing more.

You don't see a game like Splatoon every time between all those (half-)yearly returning militairy shooters.

The Witcher 3 is amazing so it's well deserved. I wanted to see Bloodborne win something which is a bit disappointing but maybe next time. It's nasty of Konami to just ban Hideo Kojima from the awards though.

A new trailer and character for Uncharted 4 was shown. She looks really strong and those graphics are looking very very nice. Can't wait.

I was only really happy that Witcher 3 won GOTY; deserved it tbh.

Apart from that, I was pretty disappointed with the awards as a whole; very...peculiar winners.

Although I will admit, I was close to actually walking out if Ori hadn't won Best Art Direction. Seriously...none of the other nominations even came close. I personally think it should have been Indie GOTY but eh.

While I kinda can agree with some aspects to this, I cannot completely agree with it. This year's awards seem to show some legitimacy. For example, Destiny: The Taken King and Black Ops 3 did not win a single award at the show and we all know how much money that Activision has to throw around. Also, Rocket League won against the likes of Forza 6 for best sports/racing game, which I disagree with that award but hey, it was surprising at least.

Except for the completely worthless 'trending gamer' category, the only other award I disagreed with was Rocket League winning best sports/racing game. I really do think Forza 6 should have taken that category in spades, considering the sheer quality that is all over that game.
