Which one would you chose? I'd like to know why you chose that character too!

I choose twily because she is most like me in the real world. I am very nerdy and introverted (She would be too if she didn't go to ponyville)

I like pinkie more, cant beat fun-loving humorous and straight up fourth wall breaking humor. though Twilight could probably kick her ass in a fight. She is magic after all

If you asked me a few years ago  I would of said Twilight in a heartbeat, but now I would have to go with Pinkie, S5 improved Twilight but it's still a ways to get her out of the dumps of the boredom that S4 dropped her into.

Also after Rarity, Pinkie probably has the most consistently good episodes o that's a big plus too.

I'm almost always torn between these two. So I'll say what I like about both of them.

I relate to Twilight pretty well. There was a time in my life where I focused on books rather than making friends. In fact, I'd literally spend an entire day reading even when my sister or a friend wanted to spend time with me. And I'd never shut up about books when I was with a friend. But then I began watching MLP and I realized how bad it can be to focus on books rather than real people. Now I've actually made a lot more friends and I'm generally much happier because of it.

Now, for Pinkie, I love her because she never fails to cheer me up when I'm having a bad day. She's silly, fun, and overall very cheerful, and we all need someone like that in our lives. While most people listen to sad music when they're feeling down, I listen to Pinkie's Smile song. After all, smiling is a good way to cheer up. Without Pinkie, I'd probably be extremely depressed all the time. But because of her, I've been feeling depressed less than I used to.

I chose pinkie

Her hyper-randomness speaks to me

Another reason is that she can be everywhere at once and has an extremely accurate memory

I am very very very very biased toward her tho XD

Edit: and don't forget those fourth wall breaks!

I like them both, but I have to go with Twilight. Being the analytical person that I am, I'll explain my reasoning in detail.

My first reason for picking Twilight is simply that I relate easily to her, being the analytical bookworm that I am. But there's more than that. I think Twilight is a deeper character. (Please don't misunderstand- both are lovely characters, and I'm not saying that Pinkie is shallow. I'll explain my reasoning momentarily.) Pinkie's element is laughter. So, naturally, she's outgoing, friendly, extroverted, and silly. But her element isn't friendship, it's laughter. While she's certainly had her share of sad feelings, she doesn't seem to understand how to interact with somepony who doesn't want to smile right now, or who isn't in the mood for companionship. For example, take Cranky Doodle. While things did turn out all right in the end, and while she did have the best of intentions, she wasn't really respecting his wishes. (I should also point out that, unlike some situations, where you do what's best for your friend regardless of what they want, this wasn't one of those cases. She was aiming for her personal view of friendship, and it happened to work out in the end.)

People often look at Pinkie's extroverted nature and think that she would be a better Princess of Friendship. I thought the same, for a little while, until the episode where we met Moondancer. Pinkie organized the party, but that's all she did. Pinkie has the extroverted side of friendship down flat, but not the introverted side. Not the side where you just sit with a friend and don't say anything. Not the side where you need some space to recharge. She also doesn't have a good understanding of depression. Sometimes, as in her case, laughter is good medicine. But not always. Sometimes, ponies need someone to sit and listen and accept that this time, it may not end in laughter, and that it's okay if it just doesn't end in tears.

Twilight, on the other hand, is an introvert. She wasn't born naturally friendly and outgoing, so she had to actually learn about it, and about the different ways to be friends. She has to step outside her comfort zone to make friends, and she's willing to do it. She understands what it's like to not want friends. She understands how her actions can affect ponies.

Twilight isn't perfect. In fact, sometimes her attitude gets on my nerves. And again, I'm not saying that Pinkie is shallow. I know that she's been in rough spots, and I know she's learning. But let's not mistake laughter and extroversion for friendship. Both are lovely characters, but I think that Twilight has had more development than Pinkie.

Maybe I should give a serious answer, eh?

I like Twilight more as a personality but Pinkie is hilarious. Twilight has some pretty funny moments too though and I find it difficult to get along with super hyperactive people.

Twilight wins because DBZ-esque fight with Tirek at the end of season 4.

I picked Twilight because she's one of my favorite ponies alongside Rainbow Dash and Sunset Shimmer. I liked her even more when she still had a lot of snarky moments, but I still like her now.

Out of curiosity, why specifically the choice between Twilight and Pinkie?

This is most definitely a tough choice, as both are wonderful. I still have to go with Twily in the end, because she is cutest princess, really reliable and all around a purely wonderful character. :) Pinkie is definitely up there for me though, as I probably relate to her more.

Twilight. Not only do I relate to her the most out of the Mane Six, but I think I just don't really like being around people like Pinkie Pie. I'm a very introverted person, so people like her who are always bouncing with joy and being happy makes me feel uncomfortable. I don't necessarily have a problem with that, but it feels awkward hanging out with those kind of people when I'm the only guy around with a permanent frown on his face.

And plus, I really do not like people trying to cheer me up. If I am in a bad mood, I prefer to be left alone. I can't really help it, but I get even more pissed if someone tries forcing a smile from me.

Pinkie Pie is just not the kind of person I would want to be around.
