Before my first kiss I sort of backed away, but then I kissed her afterward, so I fixed that one.

 

Also after my first school dance where I had a date I went for the kiss and then chickened out.

Other than the times I tease my boyfriend by leaning in to his face all romantic like I'm gonna kiss him and then pull away quickly...nope, never had any "near kiss" moments.

I nearly kissed my boyfriend on the cheek when he was sleeping if that counts. His face just looks so adorable when he's sleeping...

This wasn't exactly a near kiss, but one time while I was volunteering at a Maori place in New Zealand, we had just finished doing some cleaning, and one of the head ladies there stared giving us all kisses on the cheek. I personally did not want a kiss in the slightest, so I stood in a corner behind a table, and somehow avoided getting a kiss. I think I got pretty lucky that day.

Near kisses? Nope. I believe the kiss just happened when my ex and I were ready to do it. Not that it wasn't awkward and that either of us really had any clue what we were doing, but it didn't stop at a near kiss. lol

Save for a game of truth or dare during the final months of primary school. Our teacher of all people dared a girl to kiss me in front of the class. We stood there facing eachother for a good couple of minutes surrounded by classmates and the sound of giggling. Neither of us wanted to do the dare but there we stood anyway trying to figure out how it had come to this. She used to always pick on me and was pretty nasty towards me at times. Especially if I got something wrong. She used to always take joy in that. Of all people to end up in that situation with.

Anyway. She was hesitating and I just stood there like an idiot wondering if she would actually go for it. Not really contemplating that it would be my first kiss if she went through with it. In the end, she chickened out and just blew me a kiss and that was the end of that. Now the memory lives in my vault of bizarre things to have happened to me in my lifetime.

Not really any near-kiss moments. I've been surprised by someone suddenly planting one on me, and usually if someone goes so far as to make the kiss seem imminent, they play it out to fruition rather than backing away. If I intend to give one, I know it ahead of time and follow through.

It hasn't happened to me, but I could probably imagine being very uncomfortable in that situation. Well, unless I was into that person.

Not that I can recall. All of my attempts always ended in success, and attempts upon me also ended in success for them regardless if I wanted them to or not. I don't really pull away unless I am VERY VERY VERY not okay with the idea. If someone wants to try, I usually give them a chance, see if it works for me then I let it be.

Though I fear in our new world trying to kiss someone surprisingly is now considered "Sexual harassment", so we are going to lose a bit of that magic sadly. It's sort of a growing up and coming of age experience to muster of the courage to try and kiss someone and make yourself vulnerable to that potential rejection.

Gladly, no. When I was a kid, there was one random girl I've never seen before who tried it on me. She was, uhm, of the strong kind and just grabbed both of my arms, but I quickly managed to run away. End of the story.
