When I found out from his facebook page i couldnt help but cry he truly was an icon that spread across multiple music genres. his mark on music history is as big as much of a star he was

iconic and classic his legacy can be heard by all the musicians that were inspired by him :)

I don't know who David Bowie is

*gasps* You need to listen to a few of his songs. "Changes" and "Rebel Rebel" are good ones to start with.

Can you hear me Major Tom?

David Bowie was one of my favorite artists. I am truly sad with his passing.

This is the last music video he released (just a few days before he passed) and it is really haunting when you know he knew he was going to die when he made it.

so like it JUST HIT ME. that david bowie is dead nvm it still hasn't really HIT me yet. I hate when deaths like this happen. I felt the exact same way when Robin Williams died in 2014.

we miss both of u.

I'm pretty sure that's the last of the great musicians. Dunno what happens now, but everything sure is a lot more depressing.

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of great musicians still alive. But the amount is certainly decreasing. Maybe it'll rise up again one day but we've all gotta go someday.

Who comes close to Bowie, Hendrix, Dylan or Freddie? I bet there's those that I've missed, but seriously, music will never be like this again.

He was such a great and creative artist. There was really nothing else like his work. This death really hit me hard... I'm such a fan...

I watched Labyrinth last night... still one of my fave movies ever. Rest in Peace, Goblin King.

I didn't know who he was until I heard that one of his alter egos was Ziggy Stardust, and I didn't know the full extent of it. May that wonder of a performer rest in peace. He allowed society to question it's own boundaries.

Came home to this news yesterday. So surreal. And I'd only just gotten back into his work, after a viewing of his latest theatrical work Lazarus not even ten days ago.

Paying my respects by revisiting everything he's ever done. Low is so rad.

"Like this"...As in including those dead guys? Sure it will, because their work will always exist.

"Like this" as in good? It never stopped being good.

I don't know who David Bowie is

Stop living under a rock. :P

Anywho, tribute time. Couple years back, this astronaut guy performed a slightly-revised-lyrics version (because the original is really depressing...) of Bowie's "Space Oddity"...On the space station.

Some executives who hold the rights killed it with copyright claims but Bowie fought for it and got an extension (he was originally out to give the guy free rights to the track). The extension ends this year but until then...

I have never listen to his music before and I didn't even know it until I saw it on the news, but my condolences go out to his family and those who did knew him and liked him
