EYYYYYYY!

Man, Sword Art Online really gets to you doesn't it?

So sad.... So good......

Yui!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sig-4333550.sig-4333550.d8e29c6bd0444b12

I think the main reason Like the show is because it can actually be a reality.

The concept of it is not actually that far ahead of current Vr tech.

It interests me so much knowing that this may actually be possible in the future!

Edit = Odd, I don't remember that being the title of the topic.

The show had so much potential, and it squandered it all by being a ridiculous god mode sue harem story, with a hero that only wins thanks to hax.

I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was akin to a slow death. SAO was okay in my opinion, having watched the first arc I liked it. Not sure if I will decide to continue watching after that arc, though.

I didn't think it was anything too amazing. However, I also don't think that it was the worst thing ever. It falls in between as a mediocre Shonen series that occasionally does something good, like Fairy Tail and Katekyo Hitman REBORN!.

Nevertheless, the concept of the series just doesn't work too well for me... A series within a series. I suppose in the end, that isn't what really got me, though.

Below may contain some spoilers:

It's disappointing that they built up a female character as really strong, and then made her a damsel in distress.

Also this series gets really disturbing at points, and I'm pretty sure if I had a history of abuse (thankfully I don't) it would have sent me over the edge. I get it, things like this are what real life villains do. And I even actually like how they build one of the villains up as a shy, 'normal' teenage guy (IIRC), but then show that he really goes over the edge. People like that exist.

Still, it was very disturbing. Very much so. I did not expect that from an otherwise silly Shonen series. People need to be made aware of this before they go into the show, because it's not expected at all.

A series where the general plotline can be summed up in the sentence "Kirito gets all the bitches?" Sounds like pure genius to me.

Sword Art Online is pretty bad, honestly. No feasible development, the characters all fall flat, the story's pacing is ridiculously jarring...and unfortunately, it was so bad I couldn't stop watching it. Even through the incredibly awkward, completely sickening second season. The trouble is, if I got really bored, I'd probably watch it again.

I'm insane.

Went downhill after the first few episodes; Kirito is an unlikable jerk and Asuna is a doormat.

SAO Abridged is hilarious though.

SAO is one of my favorite anime of all time. I wish I could get it on DVD but for some reason you can't find it in anything but bits and pieces.

Kirito is one of my favorite protagonists.

I still need to see the second season.

The first episodes were heart-pounding excitement but after that, it got boring. Not to mention the second series, so boring.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

Alright, say what you want about season 1, but stay FAR AWAY from season 2. To visualize...

 I disagree with most people on anime but thanks for the warning. I think if I can enjoy the condemned second season of Darker Than Black I can probably enjoy SAO season 2. I'm also one of the few who likes Alfheim Online as much as the first part of the anime.

The only thing I know about Sword Art Online is DigiBro(ny)'s epic review of the second season.

I'm not really an anime guy to begin with, but I don't think this is the series that'll change me on that. Heard good things about Log Horizon, though.

I was a huge fan of Sword Art Online, then came kill la kill, akame ga kill, parisyte, and gurren Lagan, and I kind of forgot about it, but I bet if you look deep inside my soul I'm still pure Kirito, the true badass.
