ManaMinori 4,145 March 5, 2016 Share March 5, 2016 I keep seeing people claining to love Sunset Shimmer, but addressing her as "bacon", "bacon pony", "bacon mane", etc, all the while thinking this is cute and endearing. I just think it's horribly insulting to call such a cute pony/human and great character such a thing, literally comparing Sunset to a dead and butchered PIG CARCASS. I don't think it's meant to compare her to dead animals, but just a similarity that people had picked up on. Her hair looks like bacon. Otherwise, consider this your karma and deal with it. But if you're just making an observation and don't really care one way or another, then who cares? So, taking my partner's appreciation for bacon into account, I think you're needlessly disparaging bacon when the nickname is really nothing to fuss over. It's not an insult, it's a cute nickname for a fictional character. Now, would Sunset actually like to be called Baconmane? I dunno, she's not a real person. In any case, to me, Sunset's hair really just looks yellow and red to me. However, if other's want to compare it to bacon, it is really all fun and games, as well as respectful as a lot of people "love their bacon", as it has been suggested by others . I think it's idiotic that people call such a sweet and cute character such a horrible and disgusting name. It irritates me at times. I like to call her "Sunny" better. Her mane doesn't even look that bacon-y in the first place. Did the fans come to this conclusion just for its color? Yellow and red somehow represent sun to me.
