So, with fluttershys brother soon to make an appearance, what does everypony think that his personality will be like? Similar to his sister? Really looking forward to this episode though, it should uncover a bit more of a story on Flutters.

I think that it would work best if he has a GIANT contrast to Fluttershy, much like Maud is the anti-Pinkie. Who knows, maybe her brother is a jerk who bullied Flutters when she was a filly and lead to her shyness.

 

Maybe he's upset that she moved from Cloudsdale and doesn't see them often. I think that there's going to be some sort of conflict between them, that's for sure.

I think this is what it's going to be, maybe everyone is intimidated by him / what he does and she has to stand up against him, and he ends up scared of her? kinda like a different twist on dragonshy or something, that's my guess

He may be more outspoken and very blunt when it comes to how ponies will feel about him. Since he has never met Fluttershy's friends or heard her mention him at all, his personality will be different from her own completely.

I had similar thoughts, but in a different direction than opposing her kindness. Like the most fleshed out idea in my mind is making him Fluttershy's younger brother, and making him more fearless and naive. In a way, kind of like comparing Scooby Doo and Scrappy, including Scrappy's habit of getting Scooby into things he's normally scared of.

As long as the episode is good, I don't really care what specific personality he is given.

Although it would be a nice break of pace for him to be Fluttershy's younger brother, rather than having another big brother in the show.

I hope Fluttershy's brother is not a mean version of Bulk Biceps, because that would be too predictable and too extreme. I prefer a "normal" character like Limestone Pie to a breathing gimmick.

 

I'm actually not sure what kind of brother i would like best. If it's Soarin, i would spill my drink., because i wouldn't have seen that coming. It's very unlikely. :-D

 

This is the only thing i'm really looking forward to.

A younger brother would be the most unique choice probably. But I rather hava more adult male characters than children so I do not think I would prefer that. I would like he and Fluttershy did not go along very well and he was more of an antagonsit. However he would probably get redeemed immediately and there had been so much redemptions already that I do not know if that would work either.

 

So maybe really contrasting personalities would be the best. Hopefully the writers were very careful with this if Fluttershy indeed has a brother.
