The Unpopular Opinions Thread

The premise of this thread is very simple, and it's one that (at least I think) helps with putting things out there that sometimes you just don't think you can.

 

All you do is post an opinion of yours that is generally just unpopular with others.

 

That being said, please keep things within the MLPF rules, (which means no unnecessary name dropping or hate) and don't start any unnecessary salt-flinging between each other, I didn't start this thread for it just to get locked down, so keep things civil or so help me. This is just for fun and shenanigans, and of course, voicing your opinions!

 

And I'll start!

 

• I think Fallout: Equestria is unoriginal, and is only held in such high regard for its (frankly absurd) length.
• Boxing was a far better sport than MMA will ever be
• Bioshock was the best of the trilogy, and Infinite was a marked step backwards.
• There is no excuse (bar a crippling disability removing use of limbs) for being unhealthily overweight

I find certain episodes like The Cutie Map and Bloom and Gloom to be highly overrated.

I don't care if they have some sort of "deep" messages or morals that are highly praised, if I am not emotionally invested in the characters and their situations enough, or unable to find a decent amount of entertainment value in a show about pastel colored horses, I can't say that I consider it a good episode.  Although I do find the Cutie Map to be good, but not great, and it was a bit of an underwhelming start to season 5.  Bloom and Gloom on the other hand, was really boring.

• Silent Hill 2 is the worst entry in the Silent Hill Franchise and The Arcade one of the best !
• The drawing Style from Mlp Fim is ugly and to simplistic, in comparison with older Gens.
• Im funny.
• Hellnight should be considered the spiritual predecessor to Silent Hill.
• Resident Evil Survivor is a great game.
• Superman 4 is the best Christopher Reeve Superman Movie.
• Batman and Batman Returns are to over the Top and not serious at all.
• Batman Forever is the best Batman Movie from the 4 older ones and Batman and Robin close second.
• The Return of Swamp Thing is underrated.
• Final Fantasy 13 is the most fun game, in the Final Fantasy franchise.
• The Video Game Movie Adaptions , Alone in the Dark, Tomb Raider, Doom, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil and Silent Hill are actually great Movies !
• The Legend of Aang, was a perfect Adaptation of the Anime Avatar.
• Star Wars - The Force Awakens was a uncreative Piece of mediocrity.
• You shouldnt blame People, that have sex with Animals, if you keep eating them because you are not better.
• My Art is actually good and better than most of the Peoples Art, that hate on me.
• RAINBOWDASH MLP is funny.
• My Little Pony Tales is the best Generation there ever was.
• Fim is to crazy.
• All Comic Book Forums, look boring and focus way to much on the Comics.
• LeafyIsHere is garbage beyond believe and his fans bored children. Or very sad Adults.
• The Derpibooru Community is mostly a bunch of Douchebags, who dont even have the Balls to post actual critic for Art they dislike, but give Stupid Memes all the Thumps up.

~ JK Rowling is a decent children's author, but Harry Potter is honestly very medicore when compared to The Chronicles of Narnia, A Series of Unfortunate Events, or even Discworld. While her worldbuilding is very, very good, and she thinks up interesting plots, her characters are really too flat for me to enjoy the series 100%.

 

~ It's much more sensible to be politically moderate than 100% liberal or 100% conservative.

 

~ 'Titus Andronicus' is a Shakespeare play that I really enjoyed reading, despite it being called his 'least loved play'.

 

~ Autism is neither a curse or a blessing. It's not supposed to be labelled the worst thing in the world, but it's not supposed to be considered a way of life rather than a disability either. It's up to an autistic person whether they're satisfied with having autism or if they want a cure to be found. You shouldn't shit on either.

 

~ As a Christian, I honestly lean towards universalism being God's ultimate plan for humanity. I'm not saying that God won't hold us against being accountable for our actions, but the biblical authors didn't share our modern understanding of hell, and I honestly feel that if even one person stays permanently in hell, the devil will still have succeeded in seperating humanity from God.

 

-Being overly critical of any Pokemon generation is stupid.

• I think Fallout: Equestria and My Little Dashie are terrible fanfics that should never have gotten any attention

Snowdrop and Fall of the Crystal Empire are overhyped and really annoying videos besides for the animation quality

Luna and Fluttershy are annoying and overrated

I like grimdark fanfics. Except for one about rainbows that I don't know if I can mention the name here.

I think season 2 was just average and I loved season 3

I love Magical Mystery Cure and everything about it

In my opinion Twilicorn is the best thing that ever happened to this show

I hate the name "Derpy Whooves" and would much rather take Muffins or Ditzy Doo

I hate almost every single let's player on youtube right now

I think Minecraft is way too overhated

I hate a lot of movie genres, like Sci-fi, superheroes and horror

-Sunset Shimmer is a terrible character without an ounce of personality.

-Discord, while a cool and enjoyable character, is way more praised than he deserves to be.

-Cutie Remark is the best MLP 2-parter to date.

• I enjoyed the scene in "Newbie Dash" when Rainbow Dash was doing the impersonations of the other mane six ponies.

I didn't think Batman v. Superman was as bad as people said it was.

While I do like the character Fluttershy, I don't like her as much as a lot of bronies do.

I don't really care about shipping all that much (I'm fine with it, but I seldom ship couples).

We've had a thread with this same concept before. While this thread doesn't have the length that the old thread had, Spoon said it best already when locking the old thread:

 

 

Attention everyone! After some internal staff discussion, this thread is now closed.   The factors behind this decision are manifold:  

• This topic is enormous, spanning over 300 pages. It's incredibly difficult to moderate content in such a large and rapid moving thread.
• On too many occasions we've had members mistaken this thread for a Debate Pit-style free-for-all, leading to abusive behavior.
• Content quality is especially difficult to maintain. There is ultimately a lack of a guiding light for this topic apart from members pounding out a slew of unrelated opinions.
• Megathreads like this one wreak havoc on MLP's SOE (search engine optimization). In other words, topics of interest that might otherwise turn up as unique hits for MLP Forums are lost.

 

The bottom line is that this thread's history reflects repeated instances of negative user experience. Posting unpopular opinions became an excuse to declare even abhorrent and offensive positions, inviting fights between members. Remember: every thread is bound by the same rules of mutual respect.
