How do they make the "clopping sounds" in the show?

Like whenever a Pony starts running what do they use to make the "clop, clop, clop" sound? Do you think they really recorded sounds of Ponies running or do you think they use some other process?

They probably bang two halfs of a coconut together. or they found the sound online and decided to use it in the show.

You have your whole life left, so much to do, so much time to do it.

Use it wisely; Because you will never get a second chance.

In all seriousness though, I'd imagine the sounds are stock effects applied post-production. For me they've kind of become one of those sounds I always listen out for in the back of my mind, and they sound far too consistent to be anything but stock sounds. :P

I think they use real horse sounds. In the movie below, all horse sounds were real and were recorded in HD quality at a stable. So I say why can't Hasbro do the same. I'm pretty sure they can.

These responses are exactly what I came to this thread to say, and I'm perfectly fine that you both beat me to the punch. Because I'm still cackling like a madwoman here and my conure is staring at me like I've snapped.

@@Dark Horse, Monty python was exactly what i was referencing there. or rather, Pony Python and the holy grail.

Have a brohoof for those Monty Python references guys!

There are so many ways they could make hoof sounds. the guys who make sound effects for movies and TV use the weirdest things to make sounds sometime. Just one example off the top of my head: The Balrog sounds in Lord of the Rings were made from a concrete block being dragged across the ground. It's not unrealistic for a horse hoof sound to be made from, say, some coconuts.

Hasbro probably didn't directly oversee the sound effects being made. They probably payed for someone else to make them, or they are just stock sounds.

This is most likely the answer - Its a process done for many years since times of Radio

How do you think they make the clopping sounds? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

:o

In all seriousness, they probably just search  a sound library for a good sound.

Which half is the correct answer? The coconuts, or them searching for the sound?

The coconut being used to create the sound...although thinking about it they could have looked for the sound effect elsewhere

Coconuts or blocks of wood.

Also Trotify...

Trotify, is a thing for bicycles...they could've used that. Being an avid cyclist, I've been kinda tempted on numerous occasions to get one.

Here's the experts from Monty Python on the matter on the proper utilization of Coconuts

It's simple, they ask bronies to play Banned from Equestria and record the audio.

Jokes aside, I don't even know. Hitting two hard objects against each other? Some person suggested coconuts.

That was a great movie.  And yes, they can, but I'm sure they didn't.  They probably just did a youtube search for "clopping", and since clopping wasn't a thing yet, all they got was actual clopping sounds...which brings me to my next point:

How do you think they make the clopping sounds? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

:o

I'm surprised it took until the twelfth post for someone to make this joke!
