Most depressing episode?

May I ask what scene(s) in particular you found so depressing?

Well basically when Rainbow was in bed with Tank, and they shared slippers, and Rainbow was sooooo desperate to not let Tank go, and then she finally accepts it, and it happens! So basically the crying scene to the end scene. Really hit hard with the feels right there, my friend!

That seems to be the one scene from the episode that made/makes quite a few fans upset. While I personally didn't find it sad, I could certainly see why others might.

Well the most depressing scene not episode, would be when Twilight was in her room singing "I have to find a way". How she sat there looking out the window all sad made me want to hug her.

In my earlier days of being a brony, I started crying quite hard over the beginning two episodes of season 2, and if media ever makes me cry, then they did a good job. Tanks for the Memories was also pretty sad and adrenaline rich, but after becoming older I was unable to cry.

I remember the one episode where Applebloom found an old diary, and Applejack got angry with her, telling her to never touch it, or talk about it again. Applejack wasn't the same since that day. Concerned for her sister, Applebloom persistently tryed to talk to her about it, despite constantly being rebuffed. One day she followed Applejack to the top of a cliff where she just stared into the distance.
"Big sis, you have tell me what's wrong!"
"Sometimes, you even sound like her... Do you remember this place? Do you remember anything from when our mother was still with us? We always stopped by here, nine years ago. Everything I did, I did for her. Now she's gone, but I'm still here. Sometimes, I wonder if she's still watching us." Applejack sighed. "What would she think of me now?"
Applebloom felt unsure if she could do anything to help her sister. Knowing the futility of what she was about to do, she hugged Applejack.
"Well... I think you're pretty great."
Applejack began to cry.

There was also the ending to A Canterlot Wedding, where the guards locked everyone in the throne room and were ordered to kill everyone. It was quite a shocking and saddening moment to see several beloved major characters get killed off. (I'm not sure how Hasbro got the rights to Rains of Castamere though.)

Or maybe that was some other show. I don't recall any episodes of FIM that successfully managed to be deliberately depressing, so I'll go with Baby Cakes. Depression is the only thing I felt after watching that episode, because of how bad it was.

i've seen a decent amount of depressing episodes, but i'd pick lesson zero or it's about time or no second prances. Sometimes...

I feel like Twilight can be frustrating to deal with in these episodes  >_>

NO.

Really though, this would make an awesome episode. Not with the exact same dialogue of course, but you get what I mean.

The third act of Testing Testing 123, where Rainbow is sulking because she was unable to learn anything and Twilight trying to help her. Thankfully it lead to one of the most heartwarming scenes in the show

I couldn't call any of them depressing.  'Tanks for the memories' was a bit sad, but the ending was fairly upbeat with Rainbow accepting that Tank would be gone for the winter.

'Hurricane Fluttershy' had some sadder moments to it, but again these were resolved at the conclusion so the episode didn't end on a downer.

So to my mind none of the episodes have ended on a low note.

For me it's either Magical Mystery Cure (especially "I've Got to Find a Way") or the Cutie Re-mark (with the alternate timelines).

Can't really say I found any episode depressing. Tanks for the memories didn't register at all cause I knew Dash was going to get Tank in the spring. She just needed to be patient is all.

Party of One was kind of, well crazy fun. Not exactly depressing.

Uh... I can't really come up with an episode that I've found depressing at all. I don't feel ponies has breached into a 'depressing' scenario, but that's alright given pones rating and cultural situation.
