What made you sad/ angry/ negative emotion today?

Apparently, I've fallen in with the "right crowd" and I'm in a "gang" with @Avery and @Clawdeen. 

The negativity comes from the fact that I wasn't aware I was part of a gang until a few minutes ago so I don't know if we're T-Birds, Warriors or Jets.

And it all started because we invaded Verya’s profile. He shouldn’t have left the door unlocked. He made it too easy for us

Ok cool so this is now the 5th time of me mentioning to this man I'm not an engineer. You should meet with your fellow engineers to help you. I count on you to supply me the correct information. No I can say it again. Then I can say it again in our meeting later today to make it a 6th time. It's not going to make a difference because I know you're still going to keep throwing stuff at a wall to see if it sticks then send it to me so I can send it back because it doesn't.

I just argued with someone on call that something was not a mistake/wrong that she's claiming is. If it is it's a huge mess for me to fix. But the person who provided me the information to set this up two years ago rarely screws up. Rarely. To the point I don't believe it. This lady can tell me this is wrong all she wants but I don't believe her. I think this was setup this way for a reason. Plus it;s been two years of causing no issues or complaints.... We'll see what happens with the response I get back from this person though. I'm gonna be pissed if I find out this is a mistake/wrong as I'll be taking a huge L after defending her and this in this meeting just now against this woman. Plus it adds a pile of work to my plate to fix.

I’ve got a small thing.

I got a not so great birthday text from a relative. When you send me texts like this on my birthday of all days it further enforces me not wanting to come visit you. Which is terrible to say but at the same time. Choosing to send this to me on my birthday was a choice. One you didn’t have to make but you did.

Here’s the thing — my sister sent me a message listing all the reasons why I shouldn’t join the Navy. And I get it — it’s hard for the family to accept. But I’ve already given them time, even into next year, to think it through. That was my way of preparing them. What I ask now is: don’t cloud my decision with fear.

Why do you think I chose the reserve path and not full-time active duty? I was already thinking of them. Even if I’m ever called to full-time, I won’t be gone forever. My family will always come first.

Yes, I’ve heard the horror stories. But I’ve also heard the good ones. The truth is — none of those are my stories yet. I get to write my own. I’m doing this for me —  not to prove anything to the Navy or anyone else — but to fulfill something deep inside myself.

I know my family cares. I just wish they’d show that by supporting me, not by feeding me fears. Because with their support, maybe the challenges ahead wouldn’t feel so heavy.

 

(I do personally want to thanks my friends here who has been so supportive of me, it’s really helps a lot, even when I don’t say it)

 

Edit: After a long serious conversation with my mother, she finally agreed to go with me to meet the recruiter next year. I’m so happy right now, nothing hits differently than having a mother to be with her son through this process.

Jim Lovell, who was on Apollo 8 and Apollo 13, passing away. We’re eventually going to see a world where there’s no more Apollo astronauts alive, no more living people who have walked on the moon. That sucks. Especially since we’re now 5 decades removed from the last Apollo mission and seemingly still years or decades away from even being able to send a manned mission to orbit around the moon. Makes me sad, the state our manned space programs are in.

I received some vitriolic texts from someone who I’m starting to believe must be bipolar. It started off with some very sweet and caring words and quickly descended into the darkest tirade of insult and hatred I’ve heard in a long time. I’m not offended exactly because this person has problems, but sometimes it’s hard to just turn it off when you read certain things. I’m going to use it as a learning experience and try to take something positive away from it. I only wish I could do something to make my correspondent feel more positive. It’s a work in progress.

So they did find damage to my esophagus from acid reflux. However it “wasn’t that bad” and there’s no cause by looking. Which pretty much means I’ll be living off Prilosec forever. While living with this discomfort. Since there’s no cause there’s nothing they can do. Which was my biggest fear going into. They were going to find nothing and I’d have to live the rest of my life with this. Because it’s more than just acid reflux, it’s heartburn, esophagus spasms, stomach burning, etc. I get to live with all of that everyday for forever. I’ve been on and off different PPIs and H2Blockers and they only do so much. So this is great. I love that I get to stay in discomfort for ever. Or until things worsen. We can add this to list of things I get to live with along with the pain in my hand because they don’t want to put cortisone shots in yet.

. I watch my relative come in, pick up the liquid ant bait trap, accidentally spill it on my shelf and then be like “Oh it’s Leaking”

Im like I just watched you Dump it. Shes like no I didn’t. I’m like I just watched you. Be for real. Anyway there’s a huge glob of it on my shelf. I’ve gotten it on me from trying to clean it up. I washed my hands like a billion times.

I’m not sure… I woke up feeling off today. Realizing you’re rotting away in this lifestyle.. maybe it’s because of my upcoming job—the reality is hitting harder now. Just the thought of going back to work for the same place that nearly sent my drinking habit spiraling… it’s rough. But what can you do? The bills still need to be paid.

Perhaps consider some professional counseling? That might allieviate the stress of the job a little, at least.
