movies/tv Best Anime?

So, recently a LOT of people/ friends I know suggested I should start watching anime, and I'm not exactly sure why. I've only heard on one or two, Madoka Magica and Fairy Tail. So, what anime are good ones?

You should watch Clannad. It's a good series for new people getting into anime and cherished by many to be one of the greatest drama slice-of-life series ever. (That's debatable but yeah it's pretty good.)

 

If you wanna watch something more recent check out Kiznaiver.

The best anime in my opinion are the following:

• Naruto
• Naruto Shippuden
• Fairy Tail
• Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign
• Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
• Soul Eater
• Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans
• Hunter x Hunter
• The Devil is a Part-Timer!
• Death Parade

Just like with any TV series, it will take a few episodes to really get invested in it. And again just like with any TV series, not all of the early episodes will be good. It's important to give the anime you watch a real chance because they all come in various genres. The anime I have listed above vary from comedy, fantasy, action, adventure, and even feature blood, violence, and swearing.

Daily Lives of High School Boys is my personal favorite. It's a simple story about average high school kids just living their average lives. It's a nice insight on Japanese lifestyles and I like it because it's a relaxed show that doesn't bombard you with thousands of character names or special abilities or a fictional vocabulary like a lot of other anime does. It's funny, true-to-life, and doesn't take itself seriously whatsoever.

 

The other anime I'd personally recommend would be Ouran High School Host Club. It's kind of weird, coming from a guy, and it does have some pretty gay moments, but all that aside it's a good show about a girl who has to dress like a guy and flirt with other girls to make money to repay her debt for a vase she broke. She's poor and attends an elite private school for the rich and beautiful, as they put it in the show. The story is nice and the protagonist is one of my all time favorite television characters. She's sardonic and doesn't take anyone's crap, which is cool. But yeah, the episodes where they don't focus on the Host Club itself are probably the best, like the ones where they fight a common enemy or pretty much do anything but show off the gay stuff. Honestly, it's pretty good if you're into private school shows, that's the reason I found it, I like private school stories.

My favorite is One Piece, though that's just my own opinion. And as it's really long and not done yet, it would be quite hard for you to start with it.

 

Besides, do you have an idea of what kind of anime you're looking for ? Because anime is just a media, which has many genres. Do you want romance or adventure ? A bit dark or light-hearted ? I have many I could suggest, but it only depends on what you're looking for

For me, it is Attack on Titan, by far. So many anime fall victim to cliches that tend to ruin the show for me, but Attack on Titan seems to suffer from this problem the least.  I say that because it does have some cliches, but those cliches are at least surrounded by amazingness. The animation, the atmosphere, the story, it is all sooooooo good.
