Fhaolan 4,484 August 13, 2013 Share August 13, 2013 I'm not fluent by any stretch of the imagination, but I can read French, Old English, puzzle my way through German and Gaelic (Scottish, specifically. Irish I need more help with as they use most of the same words but spell them completely differently, and Welsh is unintelligible to me). And then there are all the computer languages I've picked up over the years that nobody uses anymore. Fortran, Cobol, C (not C# or C++, just plain C), so on and so forth.
GaleClout 12 August 13, 2013 Share August 13, 2013 (edited) Its a fictional language, but was developed by an actual linguist, Na'Vi (from the movie Avatar). I also know a little French, mainly because it is forced upon us here in Canada. Edited August 14, 2013 by GaleClout

PlsDeleteAccount 157 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Spanish, English and all spanglish derivates. I can speak a bit of French, but I doubt if I'm left alone in France of French-speaking Canada I'm pretty much doomed.
Snowy Storm 57 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 I speak English and Spanish. I can read pretty well in french and I know how to pronounce some of the words. Sad really. I am Spanish by blood, but I can only speak it not read it, while I can read french and not speak it well. I also would love to learn how to speak and read Japanese. I think I'll try to learn some when I start college this fall. 1 Created by Lugia (He created this)
Princess Periwinkle 3,775 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Not fluent in any languages. But I can get by with English, and I know a little French. Of course, I go to France and try speaking I'll just get laughed at. Ah well.
Golurk 468 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Like many of the people here, English is my primary language. That said, je peux parler français décemment (I can speak French decently). I'd also like to learn to sprechen Deutsch at some time. Avant de mourir, j'espère (Before dying, I hope). 1 Indeed.
Starshine 16,334 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Indonesian, Javanese, Balinese, English (not so good), and a tiny weeny bits of Chinese... yeah, I guess that's all. The first three are the languages I use everyday to communicate with people here. Can't live in Indonesia without being fluent in at least two local languages.

Changeling_Catalyst 22 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 English and Japanese, myself. I studied Spanish for 2 years, followed by 2 years of Japanese before living there for a year for school, then learned a bit of Russian from some friends in California. I love to travel a lot, and try to learn at the least a few phrases of anyplace I'm going, to at least make an effort to play by the "house rules". I loved my time in Japan and am still studying the language and going to speaking groups to keep the language skill sharp. 2 Here's my OC! http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/catalyst-r4136
~StatesTheOblivious~ 1,795 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 (edited) German it is! Would be kind of embarassing if not, since I am German. I wouldn't say that I speak English fluently because I still have to look up many words in the dictionary and my grammar and structure are definitely not the best. But I know English too, I think I am better in English than I am in Estonian. Paianis 489 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Just English for me; I never had enough patience to learn anything else unfortunately. However, I have dabbled in Finnish and German (the latter I took solely as a GCSE). Barely remember any of it now though. 1 Vimeo
Klick-Klack 299 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 I'm fluent in English and German, and I learnt a little bit of Spanish in highschool, however I forgot the vast majority of that. I can understand spoken Dutch, and written Spanish (to an extent)
Thuja 3,659 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 English-speaker for the most part, I did learn some German in high school but I've forgotten most of it because I had no one to use it with.. I am learning French in college though. Some other languages that I'm dabbling in are: Klingon, Ojibwe and Old English. Those are just on the backburner for now until I can get around to them at some point later on .
CloudsdaleCompanion 342 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Since I was born in England I obviously speak fluent English. However, since I was raised in Germany I have for quite some time now gone past the point where I consider myself better at German than English. After all my entire enviroment (except for the internet, and we all know how good internet English is) is German and all I ever get to speak is German. Of course I talk English with my mom but that's mostly just a yes and a no here and there. (or a what's for dinner for that matter) Luckily we receive british television like the BBC, so at least I get to hear some proper English around here. (what they teach us in school is far from what you need in real life) 2 Just call me CC Lost in Everfree
Soundgarden 2,758 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Swedish is my native language, so it's pretty obvious that I speak that fluently. English is a language I've been constantly speaking and studying since a very young age. I haven't had much help from anyone though, since my parents can't speak english :/ I can KIND OF speak German, and I've been studying Bosnian in school since a very early age (my parents are from Yugoslavia) I recently got into Japanese, I'll try my best with that language
Red Diamond 549 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Of course everyone knows more languages than me. Uh, some Spanish, and English(obviously). I plan to study on some more languages in the future. 1 ATTENTION!! I DO NOT TAKE REQUESTS!
Mightymags 1,053 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Currently I'm only fluent in English, obviously, but I've been working on learning French for a while. I've been working through Rosetta Stone as an introduction to the language and I'm going to start taking a French class fall term so hopefully what I've learned so far will help with that. I don't know much about the language yet but I love learning it and speaking it. Although right now I'm a lot better at reading and speaking it than writing or listening to it. Some day I'll go to France or Belgium and get a chance to test out what I know.
Kamarat 103 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Turkish is my mother tongue and I can also speak English too but I won't go as far as saying I'm fluent in English. I'm really close to fluent though.I know some stuff about German too but I'm not really good as I haven't studied German much.

notdog1996 315 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 (edited) I'm only fluent in French (that's a given since I'm French) and English. Though, I never got the chance to talk to native English speakers, I just hear their voices on the T.V or on the internet... I probably wasn't considered fluent in English 5 years ago since English classes suck here (good grief I KNOW the frickin' days of the week by now THANK YOU). I know the basics of Spanish but I'm far from fluent (I'm at the level where I can watch a MLP episode in Latino Spanish with no problem, but I can't come up with the words myself). I plan on learning a lot of languages though since I really love languages Edited August 14, 2013 by notdog1996 1 INTJ Introvert(56%) iNtuitive(12%) Thinking(75%) Judging(1%) You have moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion (56%) You have slight preference of Intuition over Sensing (12%) You have distinctive preference of Thinking over Feeling (75%) You have marginal or no preference of Judging over Perceiving (1%)
Dark Moon 965 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 (edited) I currently am only fluent in my native language of English. Impressive right? I tried learning Spanish in highschool, but that was a train wreak, really crappy teacher that was more interested in teaching life lessons than the Spanish language. So I guess I'm partially fluent in Spanish, I have most of it down, just can't wrap my head around those darn verbs, which in my opinion are much harder to learn than English verbs. I'm also going to try learning German while I'm at college. Should be interesting. Edited August 14, 2013 by Dark Moon
