yayayayayala 1,668 November 9, 2014 Share November 9, 2014 I barely know Spanish, and the computer program I'm using to learn it has crashed...it says "The database is out of date, please contact customer support" or something like that. The language I really want to learn is Japanese...not enough to write it or anything, but I just want to be able to speak that melodic language! MidnightBloom 84 November 9, 2014 Share November 9, 2014 I speak English, Tagalog and Korean. That's ranked depending on my fluency I want to learn Dutch, German and Swedish. I've been called a big weirdo for thinking these languages as beautiful-sounding. I find the hard g sound in dutch as charming and romantic, i find german more romantic than french, and swedish just sounds like music to my ears ._. ✲゚。✧٩(・ิᴗ・ิ๑)۶✲゚。✧

Jonny Music 3,400 November 10, 2014 Share November 10, 2014 I am fluent in English and sub-fluent in my mother tongue which is Serbo-Croatian (a mix of Serbian and Croatian). Bosnian also applies. I really want to get more fluent with it so then I'll be able to talk to those who only speak my mother tongue. As for the languages I want to learn, here's the following: German, Italian, French (I live in Canada and it's embarrassing that I only know the basics and not know how to speak it fluently), Japanese, Greek and Hebrew. FancyHorse 1,209 November 11, 2014 Share November 11, 2014 I'd totally love to re-learn Spanish. Two years via school and I don't remember much, mrf I wish my family had enrolled me for classes at a younger age. I've been studying German for a bit but kinda lost interest. I totally wouldn't mind learning Mandarin, Arabic, and Russian... If I had the time ^^" My RD cap I have is signed in many languages. Arabic, German, French, Czech and Japanese. SparklingSquirrels 21,332 November 28, 2014 Share November 28, 2014 I used to want to learn Finnish, but then I realized that it's not so much that I want to learn it as much as I want to be able to understand it. Same with Romanian, my second favorite language. I wouldn't feel very useful learning these languages, since not very many people outside of their respective countries can speak them, so if I wanted to learn another language (if I had the patience) it would probably be Spanish since that would be more useful. Or maybe Chinese, but that's way too hard ֍֎֍֎

Lisa 5,553 November 28, 2014 Share November 28, 2014 How didn't I find this thread earlier? This is my type of thread! I'm very interested in linguistics. I'm Australian, so I was brought up learning English. And considering I like to use fairly complex words at times, and I'm a self-proclaimed excellent speller, I enjoy to think that I'm an expert in English. Over the past few months I've been learning French. It's a beautiful langauge (actually known as the most beautiful language in the world by many), so I wanted to learn it. Simply put. :s It's a very hard language though, whoever created French liked silent letters a lot. I'm also learning Italian. Although, I know most Italian already due to learning it in Year 8, it being a part of my curriculum. Right now, I'm just slowly learning more and more words as a side-task next to French. Once I've learned most French and Italian, I'm going to try learn Latin, simply because it's also a beautiful language in my opinion. Even though it's classified as a dead language, and no longer native to a country (except for The Vatican, but that's a city state), it's beneficial to learn because it's a known fact that by learning languages, your brain excels in other subjects as well. After learning Latin, I might learn Chinese. It'd be challenging since Chinese is a logography language, each words and set of letters has their own specific logo for them.
