Are you satisfied with your collection?

I never would have imagined that I would become a pony collector- though I probably should've seen it coming, what with being a former collector of beanie babies and Yugioh cards. Much like those collections, which I am somewhat ashamed I've spent so much on, I like to think that I'm satisfied with what I have. Admittedly, I do still scan the shelves at stores for pony, due to too much time on my hands and boredom, but I realize that I have a good amount, far more than some people have, and try to be content with that, and have been trying to ween myself off any more pony spending (unless it's for the good of gifting to others), and also been taking pieces of my personal collection to give to others.

I know that my biggest weakness is Sunset Shimmer, DJ Pon3, and Deeply, and I'm glad (most of the time) merch of them is few and far between, so I can control myself.

But yeah, for the most part, I find myself satisfied.

Are you guys happy with your own pony collection?

Do you acknowledge your Achilles heel, and strive to avoid temptation?

At this point, I can safely say yes. I have a bunch of stuff, far more than I could have ever imagined. Tons of posters, plushies, figures, collectible cards, tins, shirts, and to top all of that off, a Twilight Sparkle card signed by Tara Strong. I use to be tempted to buy at least on MLP thing if I went to a store that had it, but I am fairly happy with what I have now.

I'm trying very hard to not think of it as a collection. Because I have a touch of OCD around collecting, and once that need is triggered it gets... bad. I can't do collectible-type games like Magic or Warhammer, because the need to have 'one of everything'  kicks in and the cost for any individual piece gets disregarded.

At BABSCon this last year I went up to one of the vendor artists, Ambris, and got one of every print he had in a particular series. It seemed to confuse the *heck* out of him because that was a lot of prints, but that's the way I have to roll. It's bothering me still because he mentioned he had one more piece in that series that he hadn't had time to get a print of yet, and now I'm twitchy trying to not go nuts over an 'incomplete collection' until I can get to another con that he's at to pick up that last piece.... providing he hasn't done more since.

No. because I tend to get very obsessive about collecting stuff. I collect a lot more than just pony stuff... so have thrown far more money into my hobbies than I probably reasonably should have. However I am forcing myself to cut back on it since there are a lot of things I want, and I have to weigh that against the things I need.

Sorta.. I mean, I have some exclusive/hard to find merch as is....like Glow inthe dark Zecora, Bronycon Exclusive Rarity holo card, SDCC Fluttershy vinyl..

....but Fluttershy wise? Not really...me being satisfied with my collection would be a life size Fluttershy plush, the BaB plush, 4DE Fluttershy and a couple Flutterbat plushies of various sizes. Along with a signed piece of merch of her voice actor. All of which are currently unobtainable or expensive.

Fluttershy's lover, she's my waifu. I'm in love and obsessed with her, she's given me shyabetes. *Hnnnng*

It's never enough. The human desire for anything can never be statisfied. So does the desire for mlp for the fans mlp. Just one more plushie, just one more toy. These people who say it will be enough they lie to themselfes and to their minds.

I'm satisfied with my collection of IDW MLP comics and my Super/Ultra Rare collection for the MLP CCG. I do still desire to complete the latter as I'm still missing a good number of cards though prices can be problematic sometimes.

In terms of my situation, I share a room with my lil bro and live with my parents while I'm going to college still, I would say I'm about to be there. I own these posters but I can't put em up, I own all the mlp chapter books (besides movie adaptions) own some comics and omnibuses, a few shirts and two plushies (with 2 on the way). I don't really have alot of my own space to put all my mlp things so yea I would say I'm about there when it comes to how satisfied I am.

But if I had my own apartment with my own room I would definitely not have enough mlp merch.

Every book that comes out that I want I will pre-order and will buy some more comics and omnibuses. But I'll hold off on posters and plushies. Unless there are ones that I really really want (ex: new Starlight Glimmer plushie coming out soon)

I will never get tired of exclusive con material tho. Going to one in March/April and already planning to cash out :D

No. I want a Rarity on a chaise lounge, that is #1 need on my collection. A really good show accurate EqG Rarity wouldn't hurt either. Also wouldn't mind stumbling on the WLF Derpy.

I'm not satisfied with it because it doesn't even exist yet :P

Seriously thought, i really wish i could find some merchandise near where i live, but it's hard to find in a small town like mine, all the toys the stores in my town have are either not ones i'm interested in or just bootleg garbage.

At this stage I would certainly say so. I have over the past 4.75 years accumulated far too much "pony loot" be it from 2012-2013 or either of my two convention trips. I was never much into "collecting" things so much as "Hey that's cool, I gotta get that!" All but 2 of my shirts have been relegated to lounge duty, most of my prints are either framed and stored or in a safe place where I can frame them later, and most everything else sits in a box stowed away. It's nice to bring it out and look through it from time to time, but I only have one or two things actually out on display (like my two small prints of Shining and Cadence from my 2015 BC trip).
