The highlights are putting a shill for Verizon in charge of the FCC, putting a shill for the coal industry in charge of the EPA, allowing the FCC to repeal Net Neutrality, reversing the transgender bathroom order, banning transgender people from serving in the military, loosening protections on the ESA for corporate interests, selling billions of dollars worth of arms to terrorists (oops, I meant Saudis), denying that climate change is a legitimate concern, having multiple staff members resign or get fired, pushing for a racist border wall and not reigning in the US Gestapo (oops, I mean ICE). Mini 451 September 1, 2019 Share September 1, 2019 I'm not American so I can't really say. But Australians typically see Trump as a joke of a president who's turning the USA into a laughing stock. What I find interesting about Trump is how divided the country is on their opinion of him. You have some people that adamantly praise him and will ignore any of his faults and others who vehemently despise him and will ignore any of his actual good deeds. What upsets me the most about him is his environmental policy. It's horrendous, and it's obvious he only has the best interests of environmentally-ignorant corporations in mind. If I'm certain about one thing, it's that a president who can't foresee the need for renewable energy and the strict protection of the environment is not going to make America great again.

It's like he's trying to speedrun the destruction of an entire nation. If this kind of ineptitude counts as great, that's a pretty low bar. Indeed things look very grim with that case headed to the Supreme Court over whether or not it is legal to fire people for just being LGBT. We have only the right playing dirty and the Trump administration to thank for this blatantly discriminatory case. The Republicans practically stole Obama's rightful Supreme Court nomination, and then got another one (where they tried their darndest to sweep what they did for the last nomination under the rug and claim the Democrats are being "obstructionist".). So... This case, which was ordered by the Trump administration, is going to a Supreme Court which is stacked in their favor. (But because Trump once held an upside down pride flag and pledged to protect LGBT people from the foreigners - who sure as heck aren't the ones threatening our rights in the USA - the media and the log cabin Republicans were all over how he's oh-so-progressive on LGBT rights.) And that's what is going to hurt us a whole lot - the Supreme Court, whose appointments are life long. If Trump gets elected again, the LGBT community is only going to be hurting more and more. They are not going to stop at transgender people being banned in the military, nor are they going to even stop at the right for workplaces to fire people for just being LGBT, or allowing doctors to refuse to serve LGBT people... And I mean everything I just listed is absolutely horrible. What are they going to do next? I'm scared. And you're right, I don't have faith he'll lose (electoral college-wise) in 2020, either. Although I do guarantee that once again he'll lose the popular vote and continue to not be supported by the vast majority of Americans. Tyranny of the minority. I'm tired of people trying to tell me that this is the Right's last rise before they finally lose. It doesn't matter if they lose later when they've stacked the Supreme Court. The Left better get their act together and do every single thing to take him down. It won't solve everything because Trump is almost like a creation of everything the Right has become and will continue to be even after he is out of office, but Trump being in office is harming us badly. DubWolf 17,263 September 2, 2019 Share September 2, 2019 America (the US) is a people, not a place, as Odin described Asgard to his son. Has my quality of life improved? (become "greater"?). It hasn't gotten worse, but I'm too privileged (I'm not) to be a good indicator, however that doesn't mean things are perfect with me. Not that I'm looking or begging for help (others might be), but, in one instance, what has been done to help reduce the costs of education for students? That doesn't mean free tuition or "erasing the debt" like others willy-nilly will say to get votes, but could mean finding ways to reduce expenditures so that higher education doesn't have to put a dent on people's living. Again I ask, differently, has Trump made education greater for Americans? Certainly not. That's just one example, in one case. Kicking out all the illegal immigrants and tax cuts to the rich isn't going to make life for Americans very much greater either (yeah you can argue the former will make it safer, but I betcha the bulk of people who die under the hands of illegal immigrants had some sort of personal matter with them or went into the wrong neighborhood, and weren't just a victim of some "random act of violence"). The Trump administration's case regarding employers and LGBT workers isn't going to make America greater for all Americans either. Will Trump have made America greater for some? Probably, but he can't get a definite yes while there are people under fire directly from his administration. 1 Sig by Wolf, Handwriting by SparklingSwirls

The division is part of the game. They keep us fighting amongst ourselves so they can run off with all the fucking money. Either way, the people who loathe him and his administration are correct and those who praise him are brain dead sheep. There's a reason why so many despise this administration: they've done more to harm the people of the US than any administration in history. Even Nixon's administration wasn't this bad! Of course, I have a bit of a personal stake in a lot of this. What with transgender rights being under fire all the time and the potential for all LGBT people to be fired for that reason with no recourse.
