music Do you get nostalgic for decades you weren't alive for?

I've always felt that I was born in the wrong decade (if not century!) I would have loved to have seen the '80s in person. As it is, I wear a lot of vintage '80s fashions and rework them into much of my wardrobe. The time seems cleaner and clearer as well. But the same can be said of a lot of decades. Each have their points of interest. I would love the (early) '60s, all of the '50s and pretty much anything from the '30s and beyond, going backwards into the past. I'd love to see the '20s, which would probably be my next favorite. These times weren't without their problems, but I'd prefer them over the modern world any day of the week.

I was born in the mid-90s. Usually, the most nostalgia I'll have is for the time I actually grew up in (the mid-2000s) but there were some great things in the early-mid 90s or the late 90s that I was too young to remember that I wish I could have seen for myself. Any time before that, though, is more iffy, mainly because my family and my hometown don't really have that many good memories except for music.

Music and media for me, go back as far as the  60's for me(currently 26), while clothes, architecture and traditions go centuries back. I love the middleages and  everything leading up to roughly early 1900's is preety cool in my opinion so yah. I guess you could say I feel nostalgic for'em

born in '89...so I guess *technically* part of the 80s? Though was too young to really enjoy the 80s....I've always had an affinity for the 80s, 70s and 60s, music, car and pop culture wise. Hell, the first Sci-Fi movie I watched was Star Wars:A New Hope...my first game console was a NES. There are times I wish I could travel back to those decades, just to experience them first hand.So yea, I guess I'd be nostalgic about stuff from those decades, even though I was never in them.

Yeah, the sixties, which surprised even me. I was reading this old newspaper that had the news of the moon landing on it. That wasn't what took me back though, it was the supplemental columns. All of the other countries around the world cheering us on. My jaw dropped. The United States, my beloved home, equally beloved by the whole world? I couldn't believe it was real. So yes, I am nostalgic for the pre-90's when I was born, when the world looked to the U.S. as a force for good and the land of opportunity.
