I don't want to see an M rated show. I don't like adult cartoons because they just degenerate to dirty language and violence.

aaand i like those, for those reasons.

The flying magic shooting technicolor equine show is the only one I watch that does not include A) Adult themes or B ) Ultraviolence. So if nothing, it would return the harmony back to my life. :D

I'll brush past the point that the adult fandom is probably not big enough for such a show to be economically viable for Hasbro.

I like cartoons of all sorts, be they aimed at adults or children, as well as MLP I like The Amazing World of Gumball, Regular Show, Adventure Time, Winx Club, and others from my younger days such as Transformers, Dogtanian and the Three Muskerhounds, The Mysterious Cities of Gold, Around the Work with Wille Fogg as well as more adult oriented ones such as Archer, Rick and Morty, Bojack Horseman, Family Guy and so on.

Speaking only for myself, one of the things that I like about MLP is precisely the fact that it is innocent and lighthearted.  There are plenty of other cartoons for me to watch when I want something more grown-up, I don't think I'd want to run the risk of tainting my beloved cartoon horses by detracting from the very qualities that drew me to it in the first place.

I wouldn't watch it. Ponies and adult themes really don't go well together and I really wouldn't want to see that happening. >_>

I wouldn't mind a fan-made pony series with good animation and adult topics, but I doubt that an official adult spin-off would be any good - too many restricitons, too high expectations. I like the show the way it is - a kids cartoon with hidden adult jokes and references.

By 'adult' you mean hedonistic, violent, unenlightened thrills and drug use? It's been done - PONY.MOV

I have an idea for a show. How about a spin-off of MLP that's targeted towards adult and bronies, with more adult language and topics? Would you watch it?

No, because i didn't become a brony for edgy stuff. I became a brony to enjoy the innocence of the show.

Besides, from a marketing standpoint, this show would be dead on arrival by alienating the kids.

Why do bronies think that they're the only ones who watch this?

If it were a parody kind of thing like the mentally abridged series where the joke is that the characters are "normal" characters in a sugary world behaving in a normal cynical way, I'd be down for it.

But I don't think we really want "adult", I think more middle tier kid territory would be good, like Samurai jack or voltron kind of level. That could work, but going past that would be pushing it.

I see this as something that could work in fanfiction that would never translate correctly to an actual show. There is too much potential for things to go wrong.

Now, if somebody came up with a show inspired by MLP that they turned into an adult show... maybe. But that's no guarantee.

This sounds like more of a seedy underbelly of Equestria society to be revealed.

A pony version of a restaurant where the waitresses are attractive mares that flirts with the patrons.

Friendship escort service.

The people who watch mlp now are looking for that child feeling, so I don't think it is gonna work quite well.

On the note of an "adult" MLP; It'd be interesting if they tried to test the waters with an MLP pony show that was a higher rating than it is now for having a little more umph and risk in the Adventure/villain episodes. Like if they made a GOH one that was digimon/samurai jack/ect. level kind of age level, kind of a more action focused series with a little more darkness and higher stakes. (Yes I know EQG is TV-Y7 as a higher rated spin off, but I think that's more because they're human girls than anything else)

MLP:FIM has done some things on the subject of their flanks aka butts in the series. Certain camera shots. Wagging their flank. Fluttershy mooning the classroom outside the window. Pinkie Pie sitting on Rainbow Dash's face. Rarity getting slap on her naked flank.

It's innocent because they're ponies, while any other show would claim it to be too adult for children.
